Black Mountain Campground is a lovely place right on the South Toe River. The hosts went out of their way to accommodate us. The facilities were clean and welcome after a week of no showers!

Relatively modern, clean facilities with well spaced campsites. Beautiful location with easy access to some excellent hiking.

We loved it! Very convenient set up, with picnic table, fire ring with grill. Bear sightings in camp the day before had all of us a bit on edge. We were fairly fastidious in cleaning the camp site of any food or odors, though, so no problems. Concierge crew were just great. Very helpful and kind.

For a campground that is off the beaten path, it was very enjoyable. The attendants were very helpful. The showers were clean and worked great. Being a federal campground it typically does not have site electricity, but for us seniors with the Senior Pass, it is very inexpensive. We were able to camp right on the river and enjoyed it very much.
