I've been primitive camping at Juniper Springs for over 50 years, and I am never disappointed in the fact that it is still "The Real Florida" that I grew up in. Thank you for protecting its natural beauty, especially the RUN!

Wooded campground with the 7 mile juniper Springs run with kayaks available at their rental shop (solo or double). Ice and firewood available also. Clean shower houses with hot water and with flush toilets on all 3 loops, and load of springs to swim in for warm weather. Bring tick repellant. If you hike on the trails check yourself and your dogs for ticks.

The campsite was very nice and clean. The only downside is that it was New Years and the group next to us were noisy. The site is great for families.

I checked in on Tuesday after the three-day Memorial Day weekend and every camp site had already been made ready. Awesome job Folks!!!!!!

This was a really lovely camping spot with the convenience of firewood and other camping necessities at the small store. The spring and mill are nice, but, in general, infrastructure needs an update to be fully enjoyed. All trails were closed due to damaged, old boardwalks, pavilions/shelters were roped off. TLC would help greatly!

One of the best camping trips I have been on. LOVED the springs. Wish I had planned to visit more of the day areas. Clean sites and bathrooms. Staff was excellent.I know they are doing some work on the raised walking trails so that I did not know ahead of time ...but I hope to return when they are complete so I can get in some better hiking and see more of the Forest.

My campsite in the Hammock Fern loop was away from RVs and should have been quiet, but the noise from route 40 was quite loud at night and made it hard to sleep. The site was very nice with dappled shade and wasn't far from the bathhouse/restrooms. They are pretty well maintained and they have a dishwashing sink, which is a great convenience. They are not heated, so both days I couldn't take showers in the morning, and the water doesn't get quite hot enough. Showers in the heat of the day were OK. It was a short walk to the Hammock Fern spring head which is absolutely gorgeous in the early morning and before sunset. I was there to paddle Juniper Run, also beautiful. Juniper Springs doesn't have as much hiking/walking as Alexander Springs. Ocala National Forest is wonderful but route 40 is miserable.

The campsites are stacked on top of one another. We could hear all the intimate details of conversations 2, 3, 4 sites away. Someone right next to us was looking for "sticks" to burn, and were rummaging repeatably thru what was technically our campsite, just 6-8 feet from our tent. There were a few groups that obviously didn't understand the 10:00 quiet time policy. You get the idea. If you're looking for a quiet, stress-free getaway, this is not the place. Beautiful area though. If they reduced the number of sites by half or a third, it would be a great camping spot.

The campground and amenities were above par. But the fact that the rental shack and shuttle service for Juniper run are still closed due to the pandemic is absolutely ridiculous. Not to mention the boardwalk trail that is currently closed for maintenance.

Adventurous but very technical paddle down the river...loved it

The campsites were a little small and close together, at least compared to Alexander Springs.
