Campground was great. I have been coming since the 70s. I wish the boardwalk and pavilions would be rebuilt and maintained. It was beautiful back then.

Kayaking the Juniper Springs run was magnificent. Seven miles of pristine, crystal clear, 72 water winding through a silent and unspoiled landscape. We were there when the water level was high and there was a nice current to push us along, with even a tiny rapid near the end of the trip. There are trees down on, in, and under the water which keeps your head in the paddling. They made the paddle even more interesting. It was fabulous. The campsite was reasonably secluded with a nice firepit and table. The bathrooms were clean and the showers had great pressure and plenty of hot water. Top notch. I highly recommend.

We really enjoy this campground. The bathrooms were clean for as busy as the campground was. I was sad that large, heavy tarps were tied to the trees on multiple sites. There were also 3 and 4 tents on those sites. We were able to get a site away from those groups and it will not detour us from returning to the campground.

This park used to be a favorite but over the past 40 years it has deteriorated. The campground is still good but the beautiful walk along the river walkway was never repaired. It's slow deterioration has always been repaired by volunteers but the park made a decision to close it because they do not have the money to replace it. This was the highlight of the park. They now charge for putting in the river with a private boat but provide nothing for the charge. The spring is still beautiful, but the park offers little but for an overnight stay. They could put in a nice bike trail system or even a camppground loop power & water hookups. The price to camp is high and not in-line with other National Parks for the same camp services.

I stayed on the Tropical Loop and really enjoyed that side of the campground. The bathhouse was clean & dry. Hot water in the shower was just the right temp. although the showerhead was poor. Water spigots are located just a short walk from any site. Campsites are quite roomy in most locations. I have a tiny trailer so the tight pull-thru driveway was fine for me. I think it would be a challenge for big rigs to keep their wheels on the paved driveways except in some of the back-in sites. The swimming area was beautiful. There's a nice building with restrooms & showers, a small store, and a very nice picnic area. Unfortunately, the boardwalk trail along Juniper Creek was in extreme disrepair and was closed-- and it's the longest trail in the park so that was disappointing. I also saw a pavilion near the Fern Hammock Spring that was in extreme disrepair and was fenced off. There was a bridge near the mill house that also was in need of repair and was closed. But the camping experience I had was very nice. Luckily for me, nobody with a generator was close by, so I could enjoy the hooting of a nearby barred owl and hear other creatures moving around in the woods near my site. I rode my bike through the designated tent area and found it to be quite wet, so if you're planning to choose a site in that area, beware!

It is disappointing that the kayak shuttle service is not longer available. Also, the boardwalks are a key feature of this unique outdoor experience. When will they be available again?
