Very nice camp sites, although I prefer to camp where there are flush toilets and running water. At least the porta potties were clean and did not smell bad. I was able to take a nice bike ride down to the St. John's River. There is no attendant on duty and you are given a gate code to enter the camping area after you make your reservation. I finally figured out that you have to push in on the lock, not pull out, after you enter the code. In the past I had to depend on another camper coming and helping me get the lock open.

Absolutely beautiful park and campground! The only issue that I had was an RV running their generator all night the first night. I mentioned it to the staff in the morning, and was told they would remind the folks in that RV of the quiet hours policy. They ran their generator all night that night as well. I'm used to having patrol to ensure things like this do not happen. Other than that, of you love primitive camping, this place rocks! Having the bathrooms, showers, and dish washing stations make it glamping for a tent camper like me. Looking forward to returning one day.

We love juniper springs but am disappointed that most of the trails are closed for repairs. We have been coming here for years and the trails over the bridges have been closed a long time.

Staff was wonderful. Clean bathrooms and park. Kayak trip is a must scary challenging in a good way. Wish the Forestry dept. Would fix the board walks.

Juniper Springs is a great jump off point for hiking several trails in Ocala National Forest. When I return I would prefer to have a pull through site rather than the back in sites because the pull through sites seem to offer more privacy. The restrooms were clean and well maintained the days that I was there.

I chose my site based on the photos and map on the website, both were limited and inaccurate. Although there were plenty of other sites available the park employee was unable to move me to another site based on the limitations imposed by the system. I called recreation.gov who had conflicting information regarding who has the power to make changes to satisfy the customer. Neither recreation.gov or the park employees were able to make a simple switch of sites. The system you have is unnecessary and complicated. I will not be using recreation.gov again.

Bathrooms not clean, toilet paper holders falling off wall, tent area had super bumpy road. Worse part was noisy campers.....no one patrolling campground at all during the day or evenings. Paid employees but no one looking out for campers..... very sad. Was much better with volunteers and government employees running it. Place really looks run down....

We have enjoyed Juniper Springs campground mostly for the kayak run as well as the CCC history around the spring and walks. We were disappointed to see that the area around the spring is falling in disarray and several of the trails are not maintained. There were more signs telling us where not to go than where to enjoy. The campsites themselves are well kept but the concession for the kayak run is completely gone. The fees have gone up for everything and as we launched our kayaks we were told we had to pay in advance. We had planned on paying the fee as we returned to the campground. After a few words, the lady finally agreed to let us pay then. All in all we just didn't leave this visit feeling all warm and fuzzy.

My only complaint is that the board walls were all closed. With the canoes closed that didn’t leave much recreation left.
