I love going to Juniper Springs. The place is really well taken care of. The spaces for tent camping are big. There was a lot a people when we went, but it was a holiday week. The bathroom facilities are big. I will say they can be a little bit more cleaner. Overall great camping experience

Juniper Springs proves to be the BEST campground in the Ocala National Forest. I have been camping here for a long time now. Even though the park recently came under new management, I can see the park is in good hands. My only gripe is that the boardwalk seems to constantly be in a state of disrepair. It would be nice to have that fixed, as that boardwalk trail is gorgeous. Checkout time used to be at 1 PM and is now at 11 AM. I do think that 11 AM is much too early to have a campsite packed up. I would recommend a later checkout time, even if it was at 12 noon. Otherwise, this park is one of the best camping destinations in all of the Ocala National Forest.

The recreation.gov website was a nightmare. It took an hour or so to get a site despite the fact that we were standing at the entrance kiosk. Please reinstate in person reservations!!!!

Camp sites were large and private (folliage between sites thick). Staff very friendly and helpful. Al in particular was very nice.
Portage to kayak start point long but carts provided.

I have been camping at Juniper Springs for the last 50 years. It's been a few years since I visited. The campsite was well maintained, the bathroom was spotless, the swimming hole was beautiful as always. The huge disappointment was he rest of the park. The nature trail was in bad disrepair and closed. Several out buildings were literally falling in on themselves. The canoe launch and rentals were closed. Only those with their own canoes or kayaks could enter the run. The concession stand was closed. What the hell happened to the most beautiful park in the state? What a shame.
