Peaceful, nice water, run down some staff dont seem to enjoy their jobs. But it still a nice place to be for a few days.

The park has an amazing setting but the it VERY rundown and the campground is in embarrassingly bad condition. Simply unacceptable and appalling. None of the wooden pathways are in operation from disrepair. Many of the old building structures are caged off from the public. The restrooms are in terrible disrepair. The showers don't work. It was a mess. I am referring to the restrooms that were in my part of the campground as I didn't enter all of them.It is really a very sad situation. There are building there that should be preserved as they date back to the 1930's and were a part of the Roosevelt efforts to put folks back to work. The place could be amazing but it is in shambles. Very sad.

We was in campsite 56 which was extremely small. We barely fit our two tents on the spot. The bathrooms were extremely dirty, and at one point the showers did not work. We did some snorkeling at the springs, which was great. The water was very pretty.

kayak/canoe rentals were promoted on the website.. upon my arrival I learned they were not available but anticipated sometime in april?? Very disappointing.

Sites were were placed far enough apart to give privacy. Restrooms were very clean. There were lots of things to do.

The staff were helpful.Especially recommendations by the rangers at the gate entrance into the park. They were always very friendly and helpful. What I did not like: The address given on the website points to Alice's Place, a bar 7 miles down the road from the actual entrance into the park. Both my GPS devices could not find the location.Found it through Google Maps.

The facility is very nice and very well maintained. The bathrooms are spotless and the river is amazing. I only gave three stars because of the facilities' staff. Some staff members were very pleasant, but some others were not. The gentleman that runs the kayak launch site is very intense and starts barking orders as soon as you get out of your vehicle. I was trying to concentrate on making sure I packed all my gear and forgot some items in my truck because he was barking orders at me the entire time. Another incident happened while we were away on our paddle down the river. I received a phone call from the staff while paddling stating that they found a cooler left out and it need to be put away immediately. I explained it only contained water but they insisted it needed to be locked up. I gave them permission to put it in our bear box but I was aggravated that the staff was going through our campsite while we were away. All in all it is an amazing place to stay and explore and I will definitely return but I wish the staff was a little easier to get along with, after all we camp to get away and relax.

The campground area was noisy late into the night. During the day, the swimming area had a different group playing loud music every 40 feet or so including music with very explicit lyrics. When I asked one group to play something that wasn't so explicit, they got rude and belligerent. I asked the lifeguard to help. She did her best, but as soon as she returned to her chair, they turned the music back up and started to berate and insult my wife and me. We wound up leaving. We paid for 3 nights and left after 1.

Stay was good, but will be better when cov19 is over and every thing is once again is open.

Probably the top in my opinion of campgrounds. We will be going back again and again.

Great Place to camp and explore the springs. The Forest is exiting too.
