It's easy to find via GPS. Road is a little bumpy coming in but not that bad. We were greeted by the camp host as we entered the campground ground. She confirmed our spot number and explained some of the basic rules for the federal park. Once we had completed setup of our campsite and rig we walk around the one mile loop of camel lake. The lake trail is an easy walk and takes less than 30 minutes. There were tent campers next to us so we minimized the generator use and shut it down for the remainder of the evening. March day I'm just waiting for one night but I'm gonna be back for a longer stay hence there are more trails to explore as well as Camel lake to fish.

Great Camp host. Great camping spot in Apalach forest. Trail was very nice around the lake. Good spot for family and kids to explore/swim/fish etc.

Great campground, a wee bit off the beaten path, but accessible to all manner of RVs. A dirt one-mile +/- earth trail around the lake is perfect even for those a little apprehensive of walking trails. The lake was too cold during my stay, but there is a beach, warm shower and a very friendly & attentive Host. Be advised, it is posted - no alcohol -.

This is a really nice, small campground. The lake is awesome. The road going in is a little rough and dirt road. The showers would not stay on more than a few seconds at a time, but nice hot water. The bathhouse is kept clean. The camp host are very nice and helpful.

Peaceful place, nice facility. The location is just remote enough to where you do not hear sounds of traffic and civilization. Lake is pretty and clear.
Chris, the host on duty was very helpful and welcoming. We will come back in spring since we could not swim with weather in 30s.
