Love how close this campground is to a lovely stretch of the PCT but the access trail is in need of some repairs. Some boards have broken through and large nails are sticking up in a couple places. It is still a wonderful connector trail, but there are a few places where you have to be very careful.

This campsite is really beautiful and right off the PCT! Some beautiful trails and lakes, and you can swim at Timothy Lake which is a quick drive. The negatives are that the road there was a little bit of a pain (granted I have a very small car), there were LOTS of mosquitoes, and the bathrooms were really gross.

Map of sites did not match what we found thus we found ourselves across from the dumpster. Sites were in large and in good shape. This is a unique natural area and provides lots of opportunities for hiking and access to remote camp sites.

The Little Crater Lake is a must see! The hike in is easy and the artisan lake is beautiful. The Pacific Crest Trail passes through and we met up with a hiker on his way from Mexico to Canada! Our only complaint is that the road into Little Crater Lake was in horrible condition. We are thinking that is why the Lake bears the name "crater."
