Have camped here many times since 2006. It's a small beautiful and quiet campground with lots of space between campsites. Bathrooms are clean and not gross

Tollgate is in a beautiful setting, the trees, the river, proximity to trails and Mt Hood is all fantastic. The camp sites are large and far apart from each other. While close to the highway, for sites near the river the sound of rushing water drowns out the traffic noise. The maintenance of the campground is poor. Our site had not been picked-up, resulting in plastic bits, tissue paper, cigarette butts, and food wrappers spread around the ground and in fire-pit. Pit toilet was out of TP. Maybe campers are expected to clean-up after others and bring own TP? Unfortunate because it is a beautiful place.

Beautiful little campground. The host was very friendly and the bathrooms were so clean and well-stocked! Love that it is so close!

Absolute perfection! My favorite camp spot to date! This will be my go-to from now on.

Great little campground on the Zig Zag. I wouldn't stay here if I didn't have a waterfront spot bc the road noise would increase. The sound of the river almost drowned it out. Our spot was perfect, with an area for the kiddos to play on the beach. The camp host was attentive, and he spent time taking care of the facilities. As pits toilets go, these were the cleanest I've encountered. I saw him go in with a scrubber and make it sparkling clean the morning we were leaving. No fires allowed, but we brought our propane fire pit and it gave some ambiance. There is a trail out of the campground, take the one heading towards Government Camp bc the other one just leads to a road. If you have kiddos and/or a dog, check out Ratskeller in Government Camp. Great outside space, yummy food, full bar and an arcade upstairs. Super fun, relaxing getaway and lots to explore in the area.

Beautiful river, spacious campsite, clean restrooms! River masked the highway noise.

Well I'm just a big dork because I live like literately 3 or 4 miles away from the camp site! Earlier this year like in March my boyfriend BIlly and I were talking about going camping this year and how fun it would be. So I looked on my phn to check out what I could find and sure enough I found this site with all of the camp grounds availability. We thought of the time of year we wanted to go ya know not too hot but not rainy either. So we decided to go 2 days before July of 2021. "That should put us in the clear! And maybe it might be so early that they won't of put the burn ban on yet for the year!" Um so as you may recall, we had those first 2 really hot days that sucked the life out of us! The weather went down from 114 to 90 and it actually felt a warm cool w the breeze. Well those were the two days I picked out for us to go camping! I'm so glad the Universe cooled down the temperature for us on our camping trip. It would of absolutely sucked if our camping trip days were those first two hot days in the end of June. It feels like I picked the two best days out of the year for us to go because it wasn't too hot and it wasn't cold at all. When we woke up the next morning on 7/1 it didn't get so hot and I didn't have to wear tank tops! I hate tank tops cuz my boobs are so big they just BASH you in the eyes when you look at me!!!!
White tshirts are what Kendra likes! Ya white hanes tshirts!!!!!!!

What was weird was that, maybe cause it's so close to the highway but, there's absolutely no wild life around just chillin in the trees or nothing! No squirls, no cougars or bears! Not even any birds! Weeeeeird! I guess being so close to the hwy really does take a toll. But it was a 2 minute drive away so I made sure there was no stress anywhere on our trip!
I cried but then thanked Billy for letting me cry because I was fine I just got upset cause not everything was going my way! But it was cool. Everything was cool!
Cooler than the fan bro, Cooler than the fan!

This campground is always clean and quiet, cleanest outhouses I have ever seen! We come here 3 or 4 times a year.

It was the perfect weekend! I love how spread out the sites were compared to some other places I've stayed. It was so quiet and relaxing and I can't wait to go back again.

This is such a peaceful campground. I almost don't want to say anything good about it because I don't want others taking over one of my favorite spots. It's rustic. The sites are far away from each other. Not really practical for Large RV's. No running water or power per site. Cell service is sketchy. Half the sites are looking over a river. Pit toilets are checked on a couple times a day.

When, their is a camphost, they have always been very friendly.

We had a great time at Tollgate, as per usual. We love our site. I had a friendly interaction with the host. Very accommodating. Can't wait to book here again!

I really enjoy camping at TollGate. It is close enough to where I live to get there quickly and the campground hosts are very nice.
