This is a party campground! Aside from being useless, the camp host even allowed camp fires (current ban on open fires) and parties past midnight. Expect trash or treasure littered throughout the campgrounds. The proximity to Clear Lake was the saving grace of our 2 night stay here. The lake is beautiful and enormous for solitude paddlers. Beware of broken glass littered throughout the shores of the lake (make sure you and your family are always wearing some sort of footwear). I would only return to access Clear Lake for day-use and never camping here again.

With the shaded old growth of trees, it kept us cool with the summer heat.
Updated bathrooms were clean.

Tons of space, gorgeous old trees, space to wander!

We didn't like the place and the lake had no water to get into.. 😕

The campsites are clean and shady but the sites seemed close together. We could see and hear all of our surrounding neighbors. The bathrooms were very clean.
The lake is very low with the deepest point being about chest high. The shore is littered with broken glass and fish hooks so wearing shoes is a must. I’d also recommend sandals with straps because the lake edge is extremely mucky and will suck your flip flops or crocs right off your feet. Once you get beyond the water’s edge, the lake water gets clearer and nice. The lake is warm and very easy to float around in without getting cold. The boat launch is impossible to use right now because it’s about 40’ from the water’s edge. If you bring a kayak or paddle board be prepared to carry it quite a ways from your campsite. Just from the tree edge to the water edge is probably 150’, never mind the walk from your campsite. It’s exhausting! All in all, it’s a nice site but the lake was a bit disappointing.

The camp is very clean and the sites are very well spaced; plenty of room to spread out and not be bothered by neighbors. The lake has shrunk and very shallow. Our kids walked to the middle of it and never passed their knees. It is also mostly surrounded by mud, so not easy to access. We didn't mind, as we just loaded up and went to lake timothy areas for the daytime swimming and fishing. I prefer to have the smaller, less crowded campground vs the large, packed ones on lake timothy. There is lots of hiking and exploring in the area. I would come back here again.
