Clackamas Lake is a wonderful campground for those looking for a small, private campground. The grounds stay quiet throughout most of the day, and the ample shade keeps sites pleasantly cool. You don't feel squished up against your neighbors in any way. But, do not let the name of this site lead you astray, it's anything but lakeside. While beautiful, the "lake" in question is incredibly small, and rather marshy to approach. The fishing may be quality at times, but I highly recommend waders if you plan to catch dinner. That aside, this is a lovely site, and the incredibly accessibility to Timothy Lake alone sells the price of admission.

Clackamas Lake was a beautiful area to camp at! I highly recommend stopping at the gas station ~ 20 minutes from the campgrounds before heading in, as there isn't much access to water at the site, and firewood was completely sold out before we got there. Clackamas Lake was really small, unfortunately, but luckily Timothy Lake is nearby! Make sure you bring some natural bug repellants!
