A very quaint campground with such a beautiful creek alongside it. Campsites were private and quiet! Can't wait to visit again

Clear Creek is a small campground and the sites are pretty close together unless you're at the end of the line, sites 12 and 13 nearest to the river. The confluence of the Sauk River and Clear Creek is a lovely setting; don't be shy to take a dip at the sandy spot right by the bridge. For the intrepid, the 2-mile hike to Frog Lake is a lot of fun. The trail is visible but not kept up. The highway's very close to the campsite but there's not a whole lot of traffic on this stretch of the Mountain Loop Highway. No potable water at the campsite but that's made clear in the description.

We made a reservation for clear lake however, we ended up at the clear lake in Linn County, who would have thought there would be two lakes in Oregon called clear lake. When we showed up at the wrong campground the camp host completely understood and was happy to accommodate us and we loved our stay at the OTHER CLEAR LAKE.

Camped August 8-11 2021 during a burn ban but it was still worth the escape from city life. Temperatures were within the 80s but during our last day, it was in the 90s. There are 2 vault toilets (one by the host area at Site 3 and one by campsite 10). Rented 3 campsites (10, 12, 13) and stayed on site 13 which was at the very end of the campground and I loved the privacy it had. Site 12 had direct river access which was awesome! Site 13 has a trail leading to it but somewhat steep. I would say that it was very clean and well kept. There's only a few mosquitoes but repellants would be ideal. The town is literally less than 10 minutes away in case you need some essentials. There is cellphone reception which is great if you prefer to camp and still be connected. As always, pack in pack out and leave no trace. The only downside is that it is by the road but good thing is there isn't much traffic come night time. Old Sauk Trailhead is about a mile away. You can get Geocaches too if you're into that.

This campsite is great to get away and relax by the river or hit the trails in the surrounding areas ! We stayed on site 13 which was great , the washrooms were well kept and the host Tim went above and beyond the call of duty !
