There were no campsites available on the river side, so we had no option but to reserve Site #24 on the Highway side. It was close to a water spigot and a short walk to the outhouse, which consisted of two separate toilets. The outhouse were clean and stocked with toilet paper, and had air fresheners which helped with the smell as long as people remembered to put the toilet seat back down.Out site was spacious with plenty of room for 3 backpacking tents. The huge fir trees would occasionally rain pine cones down on us which was kind of comical watching them bounce off the tents. The highway noise was awful. It went on day and night and was so loud at times we couldn't hear each other talking with normal voices. I resorted to ear plugs the 2nd night which helped tremendously. The State should look into replanting vegetation or trees on the edge of the campsite to help deaden the noise coming from the highway. We had fairly quiet neighbors and the campground host toured the grounds regularly. The campground location is ideal for hiking around the Mountain. We went to the Naches Tavern for dinner and the food was pretty good.

I have taken my kids here a couple of times each summer since 2020 when we got our trailer. I have got lucky finding a spot midweek with the first come first serve on the highway side. Jim has always been so friendly and helpful letting me know what sites are open when I get there. This year we were pleased to see a fellow camper named Mackie that is now hosting along side Jim. She is so sweet and motherly and helps keep the place nice and clean. They make an awesome team! This year my awning gears broke and Mackie brought me a ladder so I could manually roll it up. When that didn't work she helped me disassemble it and zip tie the arms so they were secure for our trip home. My husband was grateful as well as myself and it saved him an hour drive to come help me!I feel safe camping here without my husband, we love walking to the river and using the nearby trails. The forest and the big trees are calming and most of the sites are fairly spaced for privacy. The Highway is loud but there is very little traffic at night. My 10 year old son wrote the below review first but I thought I would add a little context;)The hosts Mackie and Jim are the best host I've ever had. they helped us with are awning . I recommend you go there we had the best experience.

Loud music, drunk neighbors kind of ruined it for us, cut our trip a night short
