One of the nicest, cleanest and welcoming places we have stayed the summer. Camp hosts were outstanding and kept the place clean and orderly.

We had a pretty good time at the Verlot Campground. We were aware that site 18 was next to a fenced residence, but it was a last minute reservation so we were just glad to get a site. Honestly, the large group camping in the site next to us were a bigger bother because they were loud pretty late. But the site is right on the river which was nice. I would come back to this campground but would try for one of the other sites on the river that is not next to a house. The other annoying thing was that the water there was unavailable due to being treated. We also did the hike to Lake 22, which is steep uphill, rough terrain for much of the way up to the lake, but there are beautiful views, waterfalls and giant cedars along the way. The lake itself is pretty amazing and a beautiful deep green.

Your website said campfire allowed. I have a screenshot from your website to verify this, but I was not able to attach it. We got there and they were not allowed. We were in site #18. There never was much river view anyway, unless you get close to edge, but now there are a couple of monster tree tree trunks lying on the edge which obscure the view even more. One campsite near the bathroom was littered with many cut tree sections. Thank you for sending us an email warning of the NO WATER situation.

My camper trailer was at campsite 18 where people from the adjoining private property walked right past my camper door without announcing themselves or saying anything. Once while I was having a sponge bath. It was creepy. Also I expected a fairly quiet and peaceful experience, but a few ATVs kept going up and down the road on the other side of the river until late at night.

The campground is nice, well maintained, with a small beach to access the river. I would stay away from the east end of the campground because it borders a residential neighborhood and someone was blasting music all day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. They turned it off at night, but it was hard to relax with the constant thrum of bass. We'll go back someday, but only if we can stay in the west end.
