No potable water within two miles. Half of the restrooms closed.

We had site 84 and was flooded out of our campsite. We had to leave a day early due to heavy rain and literally had to bucket out the water inside our tents.

Generally not bad but in need of some upkeep.

it was rough without water or bathrooms but understood about the water situation and had brought enough water. Didn't love the vault toilet. Our site was beautiful and the ground our tent was on was super comfy. I was surprised at the noise level after 10pm--I don't feel like it got quiet til after 11. Overall, I had a great experience and it was fun to see other groups enjoying themselves. Lots of good trails nearby.

This campground is terrific. Each camp site is in the trees and quite private. Several of the sites are along the river. The FF sites are mostly along the road however the traffic was light and was quiet in the middle of the night. Although you are not far from a large city you feel like you are millions of miles away. The camp site is rustic with no water and a pit toilet. We camped for 2 nights and were able to take full advantage of the great hiking near by. We went out to the ice caves and then up to Heather Lake and the next day climbed Mt. Pilchuck. The weather was great and the view from the top of the mountain spectacular. We are backpackers and have not been car camping in 25+ years. We had a great time and I highly recommend this campground.

Really nice campground, very quiet and peaceful on weekdays! An excellent home base for many of the hikes on the Mountain Loop Highway. Site 77 is beautiful and the tent pad has plenty of space for a large family-size tent or two 1-2 person tents. Theres a little path that leads to a nice view of the river. I would not recommend trying to get down to the river from there though, since the ground is quite steep and crumbly. We preferred to access the river from the day use area.Vault toilet was reasonably clean, and has hand railings for accessibility which is nice. We didnt mind the lack of potable water, since Turlo and Verlot are not very far away it was easy to drive over there and fill our water jug.

We had a wonderful time staying at Golf basin campground. Keeping in mind it is a no water facility, the restroom was as clean as one can expect. The host was kind and friendly, gave amazing tips and we found an off road trail with wonderful wild flowers and stunning views. This area has a lot of campground, many beautiful trails and views. Definitely coming back.

Worst experience ever. I booked my campsite at Gold Basin and upon arrival I found that all the flush toilets have been closed for the season as the signs posted and it was summer peak season, go figure. The vault toilets that were provided were in very unsanitary condition. On top of that, there was no running water or pottable water to even wash our hands. Luckily I brought enough to cook with. While booking the reservation, nowhere does in state in detail about these conditions. The camp host at the site said they these were the conditions after opening up the Gold Basin campgrounds after some kind of flooding. This campground should have been closed and not be available to book a reservation. I spoke to a manager about these issues to request a refund for the inconvenience, but was was denied and they were not understanding the situation, only to scoff and laugh when I was trying to explain. Would not recommend 100%. Whoever is manageing needs to understand customer service basics.

It is very pretty and peaceful. The other campers are really respectful and there are some very nice hikes nearby. I do hope water service is restored down the road but still great.

All the campsites looked great, and river access was easy. Would definitely return in the future

Gold Basin campground was beautiful! Within the campground you can go huckleberry picking if you catch it at the right time. Big rigs should be cautious with the low hanging tree branches and some back in sites due to the tightness of the road. The camp host was always on patrol making sure the campground stayed quiet. Lake 22 is close by (within walking distance to the trail head) from the campground. There was no potable water within the campground so be prepared. The campgrounds before Gold Basin both had water to fill up any containers. No RV fill or dump station in the area or Granite Falls area.

My 12 year old is a fourth generation camper at Gold Basin. Hugely pleased to see it has reopened. Obviously its much different from my childhood. My one critique is that the bathrooms could use work. The main bathrooms and showers were closed for the year no doubt due to funding. Gold Basin and the entire mountain loop highway will always have a special place in my heart. We hiked lake 22 and were impressed with the trail conditions. I wish the road to Pinnacle and Bear lakes was improved so cars could make it. Its the most picturesque area in the entire region. I also with the mill pond was revamped again as in the early 90s when they added the boardwalk, signs and dock. But again thats surely a funding issue. Thank you for reopening Gold Basin.

We love being back at Gold Basin camping again! Thankful to be able to reserve a spot online. Campground host was amazing! We do miss the water being available and the nice bathrooms. We'll be back this summer, when the weather is warm again!

We had a wonderful time at Gold Basin, our favorite campground! We love all the trees and privacy this campground has. Lots of time to play in the river and relaxing on the beach. We love to walk around the campground and it's great for kids with bikes too. The facilities are kept so clean and even the smoke did not cause a problem. Birt & Bill the campground hosts are so very kind and welcoming! We can't wait until next May when we'll be back!

We loved spending the weekend at Gold Basin campground. The river is a great feature and lots of privacy at the sites. Granite Falls is about 20 minutes away, the perfect distance to make a quick trip. Lots of hiking very close by. Plan to go back next summer!

We loved being by the river and had fun hiking around that. The camp site we had was very small (hard to tell from the photos online when we registered) but the tables are SO close to the fire pit it was pretty awkward- we took a walk and many were like ours- we’ll definitely be pickier next time, but we will return. Love that it is closer and pretty! Wished the bathrooms were emptied more often.

This was my second time camping at Gold Basin. Both times have been great. While you can see fellow campers, they’re far enough away that it isn’t an annoyance. The camp hosts are friendly and there is firewood available for purchase ($8) near the entrance. This campground is also near several rewarding hikes such as Lake 22, Heather Lake, and Mt. Pilchuck.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
