Brought my 3 sons here with me, age 11-15. It is a good campground for bringing kids. Most the campsites are quite close together, but that helped the boys feel more comfortable being out in the wilderness. River was too fast to go swimming in, but still was nice to wade in. Plenty of mosquitos (as expected), so bring repellent. Many nearby trails and hikes. We had a great time overall!

The campground is very little and private. The bugs werent too bad and bathroom conditions were decent. More than half of the spots were empty, Although reserved. Fortunately it wasnt 16 miles of gravel, but there are large potholes and rocks so take it slow. The campsites vary tremendously in size and layout and several wouldnt be suitable for an RV or multiple tents. Great accessibility to the river and trials nearby.

Great, quiet campground. The campsites are close-ish together so privacy is medium, but at least where we were (in site number 6) our neighbors arranged themselves so we all had decent privacy. (Our site was right next to the bathroom, which meant there was a bit of a wafting smell at times - not terrible.) Lots of mosquitos-bug spray is a must!

Also, BEWARE there was a black bear hanging around the campground trying to get into food. Follow all the best practices for keeping your food safe from bears! Black bears aren't really dangerous to humans but they can sure eat up all your food if you let them.

Overall, I loved this experience. The remoteness of the location, on the unpaved portion of Mtn Loop Hwy, meant there was very little traffic coming by, and the river is audible from everywhere in the campground. There are tons of great hikes nearby. This was one of the better camping experiences I've had.
