I visited in mid-September, so good campsites were available, first come-first served. The campground was relatively clean and restrooms were acceptable. The staff were friendly and helpful. I drove up to Paradise in the morning, but it was so crowded that the nearest parking was 2 miles away, so I went on several shorter hikes elsewhere. I highly recommend the Silver Falls loop, which begins and ends at Ohanapacosh. It rolls through a beautiful forest, with plenty of creeks, waterfalls, moss and massive boulders. The only negative was the constant annoying tourist helicopter flights overhead throughout the afternoon, I think rich people can do without helicopter rides at Mt. Rainier.

Really nice campground. New WiFi access at the visitor center is a huge upgrade and really appreciated. I think the first come first serve sites in A loop are the best.

This beautiful campground is ideal for tents and small R.V.'s. The ranger in charge of camping was friendly, helpful, and flexible. Dom't expect much in the way of facilities at $20 a night ($10 Golden Age), but there was running water in the bathrooms and drinking water was available there also. Sites were almost all shaded by large trees. Generally, there was a large flat area around the table & bear locker. THe parking spaces were often less than 25 feet long, so laog trailers stay away! The river below the bridge (in the middle of the campground) was spectacular - if potentially dangerous. Trail to Silver Falls is a must see.

This is our favorite campground, and our destination for a family camping trip for the last 17 summers. The last few years have been challenging to book - from hazard trees during the pandemic to entire loops going FCFS - we miss the "ease" of the old days. This year we chose to wake up and drive to the campground - arriving at 7:30am - to hopefully book sites. We were successful (hooray!), and then drove home to pack up the truck to return later that afternoon. We love this place, and would do the FCFS again - but it adds a layer of stress and uncertainty that feels contrary to the relaxing experience we are seeking. We are hopeful that the entire campground will return to a reservation system again for next season (and forever).
