We stayed in A22 for 2 weeks. Great quiet spot away from the crowds. You need to go early to get a first come first serve. 4th in line at 7 am. Good location to explore and hike Mt Rainier and surrounds.

Site A-22 is really great. The smoke was rather horribly bad but that is not the fault of NP service.

Nice hike right in the campsite, close to many other great hikes, beautiful trees, campsites overlooking the river. Great location for visiting all Mt Rainier has to offer.

Beautiful campground nestled in massive grove of trees, towering above all the sites. Plenty of coverage between sites to provide privacy, and tent sites were all level. Thankfully there were flush toilets and running water available in early October, with the nearest showers posted at the Ranger Station.

Rangers who checked us in at the visitor center were helpful as always, providing plenty of recommendations on area hikes and letting us know the visibility of the mountain before setting out on the drive up to Paradise Visitor Center. Packwood nearby provided a grocery, gas, liquor stores and an adorable coffee & tea shop. Would love to visit again!

Ohanapecosh is wonderful this time of year. We made it to Paradise one day and Sunrise the next. It doesn’t get much better than that. Fires were allowed which was a bonus since we camped all summer long without.
There are so many hiking trails in the area for everyone’s ability. Get the park maps and find a great one for the whole family to enjoy.
