Cannot rate this highly enough. This ks the best spot in the park and the park itself is wonderful.

This is one of our favorite campgrounds! It's private and right next to the river. The sound of the water was the perfect lull to sleep. We spent two nights here and it was the perfect stop to see both Paradise & Sunrise side of the park. The wifi at the Visitor's Center allowed us to have a little service amidst gaps across most of the park. We would absolutely stay here again!Pros: Location was one of the more private sites in our loopBear box on siteRoom for two mid-size tents and relatively flat spacePlaying in the river was a HUGE win for our kidsCons:Bathrooms weren't the best in the CLoop, but the Visitor's Center was a little cleaner.

We had a great site on a corner by the river. Absolutely loved it. Seemed very quiet even though campground was full. A couple short hikes leave right from the campground. Conveniently located about equidistant from Sunrise and Paradise.

Overall, C23 is a great campsite, unless you don't like white noise from a nearby large river, or if you are a group of more than 2 or 3 and sitting around a campfire watching the fire is important to you. Moderate tree cover. Check when the campsite visitor center closes, for us it was 5pm. Silver Falls trail from the campsite is okay for a campsite trail, but I would rather spend the time doing Myrtle Falls or Narada Falls. There is no phone signal at the campsite, but full bars at Paradise if needed.Pros: The campsite is private. We managed to just about squeeze in two three-man tents. There is a large river running behind the campsite, and the white noise was a nice touch for us but may be too much for those who enjoy a quiet stay. Bathrooms in C loop were clean with soap and paper towels provided, though the soap ran out on the second day. There is a truck that drives around until ~7pm selling firewood for $7 a bunch, though I wouldn't rely on it 100%.Cons: The fireplace grate was annoying. The fireplace grate is adjustable, massive and heavy duty. The grate entirely covers 50% of the campfire, while the other half is made up of thick rows of metal, providing ~50% visibility of the fire. The firepit under the grate is shallow but manageable. When the grate is up, it is big enough that you can not see over it if you are sitting, so there is only visibility from three quarters of the firepit. Remember the smoke will blow in one direction, so the three quarters easily becomes one half. If watching the campfire into the night is important to you and you have more than 2 or 3 people, this may not be the perfect campsite for you.

Site is close to the river. big enough - we had a 4 person tent. a paved pad for the car. fire pit. Perfect spot. Listening to the river sound at night was soothing. Close enough to the bathrooms which are on the minimalist side - old sink and 4 stalls. no shower facilities. We appreciated the bear-safe box for food storage. The spot had a bit of sun which was great but also enough shade. lots of mosquitoes on the 4th of July weekend. We will be back.

Disappointed that the visitor's center was still not open a week after Memorial Day. It's alwasy a nice part of our expeience over the seven years in a row that we have been there. Please find a way to gather enough staff in the future. We need our parks running well.

Also the staff person at the window had no valuabble info, and acted disinterested. It was a young lady.

Great site overlooking the river. Was able to fit one 4 person tent with room remaining. A short walk to the bathrooms. This site has no neighbors on either side just across from it.

Ohanapecosh was an excellent well maintained campground with friendly and helpful hosts. Some free advice, fill up on gas in one of the towns before you arrive as gas stations are a bit far. Also make sure to make reservations as sites fill up quickly
