I was so happy this was not a strictly reservation only campground, but first arrivals like me were allowed. Thank you. This allows for freedom for US citizens to travel. Too many people are unable to follow through with trip plans. Woman checking me in was friendly and helpful. Campground itself was very nicely designed and laid out, was nice to be by a small stream. Tall trees were wonderful! Having flush toilets in a campground was a pleasant surprise. The trail to Silver Falls was nice. Was great to have recycling bins right in the campground. I would recommend this campground to friends and family.

Awesome. Hike to the falls and then on to The Grove of the Patriarchs.

Very popular place (yet they have over 100 sites). Did hike to nearby hot-springs, silver falls (about 1.5 miles away), and then "grove of the patriarchs" with some old and BIG trees (about another 1.5 miles). Lots of places inside Mt Rainier NP with this at the SE corner of it.

I really enjoyed staying here. With half the campsites closed for problem trees privacy was pretty good. Except we were on a direct path to the the bathroom and river so had people walking by pretty regularly. Next time well try for a site near the river. As for getting into the park proper, I think this is the way to go. We never saw a line and could have gone all the to Paradise if we chose. Instead we just enjoyed the trails close by.
