Park is beautiful and well maintained, the only issue we had was a group that was allowed to party with loud music well after midnight even though their are signs posted that quiet hours are from 10pm-6am.

Unfortunately it came a storm and rained and ruined everything. Other than that the park itself was great. I have camped here many time and will come back.

A very well maintained park with beautiful, scenic viewsof the lake and forest. R,v. sites are very wide and level with full hook- ups.

We love Persimmon Hill and camp in our motorhome frequently. Only downside is that I believe they have lost control and given up on controlling the fire ant population around the sites. It is a major task and fortunately if folks leave them alone, they will leave you alone. This visit was our first in site 72. Beautiful views and windy. Also our first visit to share our site with a yellow jacket nest at the base of a tree. We will always go back.

We loved our time at this COE campground. We had a very nice waterfront full hookup site for $12 a night, what a deal. We love COE campgrounds.

Was our first time at a Corp of Engineers facility and we were very pleasantly surprised. Relatively secluded full hook up level site by a gorgeous lake. Some road noise from I-55 (about a mile away on the other side of the dam) but not objectionable. Campground was less than half full. Other than doing things on the lake, there didnt seem to be much to do in the area though. Was a nice but short multi-use path in the campground and may have been more on the downhill side of the dam.

Spaces are well thought out and spacious, facialites are clean and well kept and its one of our favorite places to camp

We have stopped at persimmon hill campgrounds for a few years now. It is a convenient and beautiful place to break up our trip to the Gulf of Mexico in mid winter. While the park is not busy at that time of year it has many off season charms. I like to rock hunt and walking around the pond at low water levels can be productive. This years find was a nice sized coral agate. The park is also close to Clarksdale and many other Blues destinations, if youre a fan. The Catfish Hut is just down the road and is an old school restaurant with good food and charm.

Love this place. The host and Rangers are very friendly and helpful when needed. Patrol regularly but not intrusive.
NEED to try to do something about the LARGE number of red ant hills. Otherwise very clean and nice campground and facilities.
Will go there again.

This is a true hidden gem. Full hook up, beautiful views, beautiful and clean park. Well lit and good place to walk or ride your bicycle. We will be back, but for much longer.

Beautiful location, full hookups, easy reservation - definitely recommend. We had to find an extension cord for our electric. Some spots may need an extension cord.

Stayed in site 72, we felt very private and the view was fantastic. The park is quiet and very well maintained. We will be back for sure.
