Grass needed mowing badly. Seldom saw the hosts Fire ants need treatment. Rangers came by fairly often. It's a beautiful place. Despite these problems we enjoy going there.

Great campground. Only suggestion is to mow grass more often.

Love Persimmon Hill. Ask for help from Rangers blocking off parking area to be used as turn around since water was over the bottom of the road. People were having trouble turning around. Talked to ranger and the next day they blocked off parking. They have always been nice and friendly.

This park is very beautiful. However it seems the rules are not being enforced by camp hosts or Rangers. Golf carts are prohibited unless an approved disability is is registered. We have personally had golf carts ride directly through our camp site while we were sitting out. Also the quiet time hour is not enforced. Last 3 nights we had neighbors partying until midnight and beyond. I counted 11 vehicles at the one site alone. They drank and were very loud. Also played the corn hole game until very late in the evening. Definitely past 10:00 pm. Boats parked all over the campground instead of designated areas. We pay too. If people want to have large parties they should use the pavilions so they dont disturb everyone else. Some of us are senior citizens and dont appreciate the loud music, shouting and noises vehicles while we try to enjoy our weekend too. Not everything enjoys all the constant back and forth all day long with huge pontoon boats and big trucks. We get people want to have fun. But respect others rights to just enjoy the natural area of this beautiful park. It wasnt always this way. Somebody needs to start controlling speed, quiet times, number of vehicles per site, and boat parking.

We stay at this park regularly. It is well maintained. You need reservations because it stays booked. Our only complaint is the park can’t seem to get a handle on long term or full timers. They just seem to move from one spot to another. Basically living in the park! Some of these perm people have no regard for the condition of their RV’s. We have experienced some pretty run down (poor condition) units staying long term at the park. They move from one side of the park to the other. Every other week. It’s pretty obvious they don’t have any regard for week ender or traveling patrons. The rangers and park host do a good job but we wish they had more leverage in dealing with this. People shouldn’t be allowed to live at the park. Regardless if they move from one side to the other every 14 days. It makes it hard for others to make reservations. They work the system. Other than this issue the park is very nice.

We found this campsite from the coe by sure mistake last year. We were returning home from vacation at dolphin Island Alabama and we made a stop here for overnight. We liked it so well that we decided to come back and we also invited friends of ours to come in camp with us. We thoroughly enjoyed the week that we spent at Enid lake and the fishing was great too. We plan on returning again next year.

Persimmon Hill is a wonderful campground made even better by full hookups. Sites are roomy with concrete pads and parking spaces. The grounds are well maintained. We did not use the shower houses but saw them being cleaned.

The campground was clean and the RV pads were in excellent condition. The only draw back for us was that the people who were supposed to check in at 6:00 pm on the day of our departure showed up shortly after 12:30 pm while my wife was cleaning up after lunch. Check out as stated on the website is at 4:00 pm. The couple had the roadway blocked with their rig in anticipation of setting up camp. We didn't want to be rude because the couple was older than us, so we left the campground a little earlier than anticipated. Other than the rude, and intrusive new arrivals, we had a great time and will return to this campground. The boat ramp is in excellent condition as well.
