New camp host this year. Saw them maybe once in 2 days, but reservation postings did seem to be updated. Would be nice if firewood was available at this location, but overall it's an incredibly beautiful campground.

We love Hahns lake! Great place to SUP and hike! But the addition of sheep to mitigate fire is a noise that I needed to get used to, plus our campsite in the woods, I was surprised by the high turn over of one night stays around us. Im used to coming in and people stay for a couple of nights. So that was interesting. All in all we would stay here again.

This is by far the best camp ground Ive ever stayed at in Colorado. The access to the lake is excellent, camp ground space is plentiful, nice fire rings, quiet, secluded, and green!

Beautiful and quiet.

I love HP Lake and the sites are nicely spread out. The CG is remote so its nice and quiet during the week. There is no potable water on site so you need to travel with full tanks or fill up at Steamboat Lake SP. Love that it is a no wake lake, great for paddlers.

Beautiful views, less crowded and more trees than Steamboat Campground. Love the walk around the lakes. Large sites that can fit multiple people and cars.

Overall we had a very good experience here, loved the lake and plan to come back. It was close enough to Steamboat that we went to town and enjoyed walking around and seeing the sites. We missed seeing other sties due to rain on our only full day there. There were some issues with the site. We were in Site 14. Not sure why, but this site and site 15 are not listed on the campground map in Rec.gov, but we took a chance. It was less than 50ft from the vault toilets. The smell from the toilets was a issue at times. The site was fine, but there were grasses almost 2 ft tall and there were many, many thistle plants all over the site. This was especially an issue on the tent pad, so much so that we had to remove many plants before we could pitch the tent. This site had different levels with stairs. The second step on the stairs to the tent pad was missing the front edge. This resulted in a fall the first time down them. The overgrown state of the site and the lack of repair on the stairs are issues that need to be addressed. Not having it on the campground map showing its proximity to the vault toilets should also be corrected.

Camp host Stephanie was great! Hahns Peak has the lake and a trail to hike around it making it a well rounded spot.

Beautiful campground. Quaint and lovely. Very clean and spacing between sites was awesome. Lots of wooded spots and some non-wooded. We really loved our stay with our kids and dogs.

Great lake for SUPs and fishing and an easy, mellow trail that goes around the lake. Our site (#23) was nice and private and had very level tent spots but it was a bit of a walk down to the lake if you have fishing stuff or SUPs to carry. I would get a site on the loop closer to the lake next time. We could get cell service if we walked down or drove to the damn at the end of the lake, opposite of the campground. No water here.

Sadly some people are ruining this campground. The person who camped before us dumped their trash in the firepit and left trash on the ground. There were so many off leash dogs running around as well. We had 3 different dogs barge into our campsite and approached our leashed dogs, causing them to go crazy and bark. One family pulled up to camp overnight and allowed their two big dogs to roam free the whole time which is why there is dog poop here and there that doesn't get picked up. Our second night there, 3 adults pulled up into a spot with their car and about an hour later a man from that car approached us yelling that we were staring at them and watching his son walk to the bathroom? Very strange, they sat in their car for 2 days with shades covering all their windows with the car running most of the time. We have camped here several times because the lake and campgrounds are beautiful. Due to rude and inconsiderate people, we won't be back.

The campground hostess was very helpful and friendly The grounds were taken care of and bathrooms were fine. There was no partying with loud music. It is a quiet area which is why many of us go there. Many of the campers there had been going back there for 20 years or more.

We've been camping every summer for about 8-10 years at Hahn's Peak Lake. We enjoy fishing for lake trout, paddling our canoe and watching the wildlife, which includes beavers and osprey.

We have camped at Hahns Peak for years but in the last 5 years or so it is very hard to get a reservation. This trip it was very disappointing knowing all sites that can be reserved were but only about 60% of the campground was actually occupied. Many people book for 14 days, stay the first weekend, leave their camper or stuff in the site during the week and return for the last part of the reservation. This was also the case with the first come first served sites. It should be required that the site remain occupied every night, not just the first night.

To bad the reservation system is so bad. We had a hard time obtaining one especially for the weekend. Finally, did but only had one option and took it. The rest of the sites were all booked. However, once we were there, three of the sites we wanted still showed they were reserved but were empty and were when we left. The whole reservation system should be scrapped and all sites done by first come first serve. Make it a lot simpler for everyone!

Very nice secluded primitive camping experience in a lovely quiet lake side setting. While there are no services including no water, it's a great option with easy access to a pristine lake for paddle boarding, kayaking and fishing. It is a well stocked, however this year the fish were quite small. No motor traffic allowed, so it's a peaceful place to play. Campsites are mostly level with nice views of the surrounding mountains. We like it better than the bigger Steamboat Lake State campground down the road, which is more exposed and noisy. We stayed 3 nights in our 23' travel trailer and had just enough juice with our solar panels and enough water for the 2 of us. There is a dump station at the state campground where you can dump and refill with water a few miles away.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
