The nearby Borderland State Park features wooded campsites with access to hiking trails, fishing, and wildlife watching. To the south, the Myles Standish State Forest offers both rustic and developed campsites, perfect for hiking, birdwatching, and enjoying the beauty of the Massachusetts countryside. For those looking for a more tranquil setting, the Scusset Beach State Reservation offers beachfront camping, ideal for swimming, picnicking, and beachcombing. Barnes Field Campground is located in the Androscoggin Ranger District, White Mountain National Forest (1 hr 38 min west of Lewiston, ME) with an elevation of 1,286 feet. There are a total of 11 campsites including 4 tent-only sites. The campground is open all year. 7 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers up to 40 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. Prices start at $45.00 per night. Activities include hiking trails.
