Maple canyon is always a great place to visit, love the climbing and the quiet weekdays. The hosts Maggie and Chuck were especially good, they keep the bathrooms spotless and well stocked and help out with any issues that arise during the trip regarding sites etc. We greatly appreciate all they do to make Maple Canyon worth coming back to.

What a great campground! The bathrooms (pit toilets) were spotless, the host greeted me when I arrived, got me into a single campsite for my entire stay (I thought I was going to have to change sites halfway thru) and was super friendly and helpful. The rock climbs are an easy walk from the campground and we took a beautiful hike up to the scenic overlook. I will definitely come back - thank you!

Beautiful place. Amazing rock formations. So much climbing. Can I live here?

Normally our experience at Maple Canyon is good. However, this year, due to the road construction , our experience was one of inconvenience and uncertainty. Not knowing when or if we would have to vacate our site in order to "mag" our campsite spur added to the daily stress of deciding what to do each day (leave the canyon or stay put at our campsite) based on road closures and the weather since driving on a wet "magged" road is not advisable.
The final result of the road construction remains to be seen. When dry , the road appears to be hard packed and dust free, but with rain it turns into a muddy quagmire especially in the steeper sections adjoining campsites 1-16. In fact , when wet, the road conditions actually become hazardous due to poor traction , especially when coming down the road.
In general the road construction was poorly timed, poorly managed and poorly completed , which ruined the planned vacation of many campers and climbers.
