We were thankful to have a stove to cook on and heat. Although the heater barley kept up with the cold Oct. Temps (our fault for going in oct.) and when we turned the oven on it reeked the place out with the smell of mouse pee! There is a mouse in the lookout and he has made a home under the stove. The stove top burners were enough to cook our dinner and thankfully there was a microwave.
Over all great experience and would do it again. Word to the next. Bring a mouse trap!!!
The wonderful access to electricity made life so much easier. Having a cooktop was a dream! The refrigerator, which was a large dorm size, was nice, but it kept food cool but not cold. In this COVID era, I'm sure the living space has never been this clean. We wiped it down before we occupied and after we left; much like everyone else I'm sure.
Our views were greatly diminished by smoke from the California fires (625 active fires this week) and the one in Oregon near the Metolius. We were saddened not so much for loss of our view, but the destruction the smoke represents.
There are lots of good comments and recommendations in the Tower's Logbook, I recommend scanning it when you arrive.
