Nice layup and pretty location. Hot in the summer months. Bring plenty of water. Best vault toilets I’ve ever smelled.

Chanced heading out to Mt. Fig over President’s/Valentine’s Weekend given the temps and predicted winds. The drive up was gorgeous and the winds did come. But we hunkered down and we’re prepared. No bugs as reported but likely not an issue in February with the winds. Booked online through Recreation.gov and our site was open and ready for us. Amber the camp host was very welcoming and flexible, offering us another site that was cancelled. We kept our site #18 which was suitable for our pop up camper. Very spacious camp area with picnic table, fire pit and grill and many beautiful Mexican Manzanita trees. So much to explore in the surrounding areas and intriguing wildlife. Spotted many deer and even a bobcat just hiking not far from the campground. Davy Brown trail was gorgeous this time of year...dormant poison oak but still potent. Overall, a campground we would come back to again!
