Nice campground, with a creek running through. Toilets were clean. Very nice hosts. Two trails starting from the campground, then connecting with other trails. Site 16 was good site that fit 2 cars.

Don't get much for the money. Tree maintenance must not be in the budget. Low hanging branches everywhere. Very unlevel campsites. This is a twenty dollar a night campground. Not going back.

Tics, bears, rattlesnakes, and noisy scrub jays ... what's not to love?? I camped in mid-October, not very crowded, clean bathroom, great hiking, excellent wineries within 30 minutes away... I thought it was great. Excellent 5G UC service on my tmobile phone. No tics, bears or rattlesnakes, but oh... the scrub jays... SQUAWK!!

A very quiet campground with one big loop hike. Very easy to get down to the beach to cool off if it gets hot during the afternoon. The one downside is if you get one of the sites within eyesight of a pit toilet, you will smell that pit toilet. (Although this is normal/expected.)

Great Camp Hosts. Location is perfect! About 20 min from Paso Robles Wine Country and 20 min the other direction to Morro Bay with the best seafood ever. The camp is very quiet and peaceful. Pit Restrooms are clean. We enjoyed our stay.

Nice campground, very busy with hikers. TONS of teeny tiny ticks, tho, so we probably wouldn't return.

The grounds were beautiful. But it was very sad to see that it was infested with Asian beetles. They coated the bathroom walls, along with trees, bushes, and grass along the lower part of the path leading up the mountain.

Beautiful location, easy drive from Paso Robles or Morro Bay.

Not a great summer campground. Both the campground and the Cerro Alto trail are loaded with poison oak. Our site was literally surrounded by poison oak on all sides. Facilities are fine.

Beautiful and quiet campground. The camp hosts were friendly, and let us barrow their ax to make kindling for our camp fire.

Very nice location and host. Best to visit during Jan - May while it's green.

We visited in November and it was pretty chilly, especially as the campground is mostly in full shade all day and fire restrictions were in place. We were at site 16, which was nice. Paved drive and loop was easy to drive and fun for the kids to bike. Host was accessible, helpful and friendly. Lots of trails to explore, creek right behind our site and big trees to climb. We did the Cerro Alto Peak trail - about 6.5mi and 1,700 ft elevation. Challenging hike, but made it with kids aged 5 and 7 and our dog. Fun trail, really pretty, gorgeous 360 deg views at the top. Short drive to Morro Bay and other coastal attractions.

Very quiet and convenient location off Highway 41

Great location, sites are spread out, had plenty of room for our 25’ trailer. Lots of rain the last night we were there. No flooding issues. Good trails around the area. Close to Morro and Atascadero. Highly recommended.

Cerro Alto was a nice surprise. We booked it at the last minute. It is a really pretty campground. The only change that would make it a better experience would be to replace the pit toilets with flush toilets.

Simply put: We're goin' back. Close enough to Morro Bay, far enough for great hike. Should I mention, facilities were clean, few neighbors were friendly and quiet, and the staff helpful, down to earth friendly.

We enjoyed our weekend stay very much! Campsites are well maintained, large with good privacy. The host and staff were friendly and helpful. A great place to take a break. FYI: we had no cell service from T Mobile while at camp. A pro or a con depending on the person...

Clean, quiet campground tucked away from main road. Hiking trails from campground. Would recommend

Quiet, small campground. The camp hosts, Danessa & Anthony, were so friendly and helpful. We accidentally left our hatchet behind when we left and she called me to let me know! There are a lot of beautiful birds around and some pretty trails. I almost got taken out by some bikers on one of the trails, even at 6:30am, so watch out for that. Our site, 16, felt very exposed compared to the privacy I usually prefer while camping. Hikers, bikers, and everyone using the campground walks by this site to get to trails/parking/bathrooms. Vault toilets only and no sinks in bathrooms. No cell service- on Verizon- which may be a minus for some- but I enjoyed the peace & quiet for a change.
@StephenR292 · Camped on Mar 2, 2021 at Campsite #16
Very roomy, private campsites. Perfectly clean bathrooms with pit toilets. Many hiking/biking trails from the campground. Very quiet in early March.

The campsite was just awesome and secluded. The campgrounds keeper was pretty cool too- introduced himself etc.
Definitely will return in the future.

Great campground in the Los Padres. Lots of oaks and sycamore trees. but watch out for poison oak and ticks. treat your dog ahead of time if bringing fido. and check yourself after walking trails. The hike to top of Cerro Alto is a must if you can do it. about a 5 Mi. round trip with amazing views of coast and valleys. The camp host was real nice and bathrooms were clean. The site was very clean and the host does a great job keeping the place up. the way they post sites indicating "reserved" was not very good though. they posted my site as OPEN even though i had another night reserved. so a handful of people slowed down to ask if we were leaving. i fixed that by turning the sign over.
definitely recommended.
