I LOVE the Cerro Alto Campground and surrounding hiking trails. The views from the Cerro Alto are amazing on a clear day. I have been going there for years and I have to say the campground really has gone downhill. During the 4 days we were there no one ever emptied the already overflowing trash cans and the bathrooms looked like they hadn't been cleaned or swept out in a very long time. We only saw one employee who collected fees right after we arrived during our entire stay.

Nice small campground with sites spaced really well, not cramped. Good 2 mile hiking trail to Cerro Alto, and allowing leashed dogs. We really enjoyed our 1 night stay, glad we experienced it. We would not stay there more than 1 night, but that's not a criticism of the campground.

Had site 9 which was nice. One mile narrow road to campsites is a bit hairy. Enjoyed being only 8 miles from Moro Bay. Camp Host was friendly and helpful.

2nd visit here. Close to Morro Bay. Narrow road, caution. If bringing RV, drive slowly. Turn around at end of road. Nice and quiet.

We had an awesome time here! First and foremost- Laurie and Jimmy were beyond helpful and kind. They went out of their way to check in on us, help us sort out some issues with our reservation, and were all around friendly. 10 stars to them. The campground is beautiful, and the hike up to the peak of the mountain right from the campsites was super fun, challenging, and exciting! Finally- everyones complaints here are 1. toilets 2. poison oak 3. cell service.1. yes- the toilets dont smell amazing. they are vault toilets. they keep the facility very clean, but there isn't a whole lot you can do about a hole filled with poo. plan ahead and dont book a site right next to the toilets. or bring incense. it's a campground.2. there is a tremendous amount of poison oak, yes. I am very sensitive to the stuff so I was worried about it, but alas, I didnt get any rash at all and I stayed here for 4 nights, and hiked through it. Be knowledgable about how to prevent getting poison oak, bring technu and good wipes. wear long pants/sleeves, put dirty clothes in a separate bag from your clean clothes. again, it's camping.3. cell service- BFD. you're camping. it's beautiful. tell your people you'll be away for a few days and just deal with not having a phone glued to you. its ok.The campsites are well spaced apart, and we had plenty of privacy, even with a large group. I'd come back for sure. Just maybe not to stay in site 10, next to the toilet.

The campground hosts Anthony and Dannessa did a great job! Campsites and bathrooms were very clean. The only negative was the narrow road through the campground and the jerks who drive 30 mph instead of 10mph

Beautiful and clean campground. Hosts Anthony and Danessa were the most accommodating and friendly people Ive had the pleasure of meeting. Went during the Fall, and temps and scenery were amazing.

Perfect spot for us. Easy to get to coast to be cool, or to the valley to be hot. Quiet dry camping old style. Suits us just fine.

Although some of the sites looked nice, campsite no. 9 was pretty underwhelming to say the least. It's off the road that runs through the camp so there is no privacy. It is also next to the dumpster and outhouse so people are constantly walking by to do their business. Other sites in the campgrounds are more tucked away and looked cooler. On a positive note, it was a clean site equipped with a fire pit and standing grill.

Beautiful campground with one peaceful road in and out. We were in spot 09 with a small trailer - nice to look at, but it right next to a tent site that was loud - 2 families with children. Oh well, they were quiet at night, so that's good. The camp is just 10 miles from Morro Bay, and about 25 miles from Paso Robles. Excellent location!
