We loved our 3-night stay! Our campsite (#12) felt private being high off the ground. The campsite is a little bit at an angle so if you have a 6-person tent (like us), then you'll slide downwards a bit during your sleep. Other than that, restrooms were well maintained, campground hosts were great! They have firewood and will give you great suggestions for hikes or access to the creek for little ones.

We had a great time. It was cold and had just rained buckets. It made it REAL camping! :) We will definitely be back!

The camp site was clean when I arrived. It's a beautiful location. I am sorry the tap water was not potable, but I appreciated the advance notice by email so I could prepare by bringing extra water with me.

Cerro Alto is a nice little spot nestled between civilization, so it's perfect for those trips where you don't want to worry too much about packing everything. There are a few hiking options that start directly in camp and then branch out, providing amazing views of the local area. We loved it for a quick weekday getaway!

Although staffed for maintenance by "hosts", it doesn't have an obtrusively privatized feel. Tent camping is fairly insulated from RV's, but this was over Thanksgiving--I wouldn't be surprised if sometimes during the busier season there might be more overlap with de-facto camper vehicles and attendant noise and light pollution. The two Cerro Alto peak trails offer different experiences of topography and vegetation, so a loop route would be a good idea. I would choose ascending by the shorter, more northerly route, but that's a matter of taste.

Secured spot 12 which only has a small flat area, but it fit everything perfectly and the wall next to the parking spot elevated the site and grated excellent visibility..

Watch out for the tick infestation!!! Aside from that the facilities were well maintained. The noise control, or lack thereof needs to be better enforced. Both night I was there with my family we were kept up by loud adults not only talking loud but shouting.

nice simple campground, loved the creek and access to hiking. sites felt isolated, although the steps up from the car could be a doozy in the rain. watch out for ticks!!
