Beautiful camp grounds that are well maintained. The camp hosts are fantastic!

Went memorial weekend.. can't complain about the rowdy mama's. Very close to bathroom and road so expect smelly doo doo's and noise but also closer to river and under the road passage to trails. Didn't go further than gut feeling. Would book further away from road next time. No cell service; you'll have to drive towards Ojai to get it. Host sells firewood. A dollar more than what the stores have.

Absolutely no cell service. Prepare yourself. Camp hosts are awesome and very helpful. We had site 47. It was okay, but close to the main road and you could hear cars. Campsites are decent sized, but some are close together. Keep an eye out for poison oak.

Camp host was nice and informative. Clean pit toilets. Clean campground. Only bad part was the biting flies. But they only got me! Deet didnt help. Stream near by was nice and calming. Would definitely come back again.

We loved our second trip to Wheeler Gorge. The campgrounds were clean, the camp host was helpful and we very much enjoyed the little stream. We will definitely be back. It’s a great campground for a quiet, relaxing site and we drive into Ojai to get some ice cream.

I had a some high hopes for this campground reading reviews on here and other camping sites, but arriving at check-in, my site through a mistake not my own, had reserved was given to another camper. I was given a site directly behind the one I had reserved which was more slanted making sleeping in my vehicle a little uncomfortable. There was shade, but a lot of flies and some sites like mine are a little smaller. Overall, for a one night stay it was it was okay. It would've been nice to get notified that my original site that I booked got changed instead of arriving at the campground and finding out there.

We had an overnight stay here in site #47 and we liked the site.
The camp hosts were knowledgeable and friendly.
It was a family-oriented crowd and everybody we interacted with was personable.
The only thing that made this an okay experience was there was no running water. The spigots had been capped off and we didn't know we needed to pack in water. We had plenty for drinking but there was nothing to personal/ clean up use. We were told by the hosts that some years back it was noticed that the pipes were corroded and instead of changing them they were capped off. Not what we were expecting, especially when we pay the same for other locations that do have water.

The campground is lovely, and practically every site is great(though some are much better than others). The host was very nice and informative, the campground wasn't even full when I went mid-week, and most sites are pretty private. There are lots of bathrooms throughout the campground. Some of the sites are right on the river, which is really nice.

I really enjoyed the location. Easy hikes, quiet at night with the sounds of the water from the creek. We spent the afternoon with our folding chairs in the creek. Very relaxing. I would give this 5 stars except we had a terrible spot, right next to the toilets during an 100 degree weekend and the lack of showers. Theres a nice place to put your tent behind the parking and away from the toilet but you can smell it when the wind blows. Check out the map before choosing your spot. Will definitely go again

Really nice! The creek winds through the campsite. Fun to wade through and there are also a few shallow-ish swimming spots. The campsites were well spaced out. If you can get one right by the creek, go for it! Just remember to bring lots of water (none available at the site at all) and bug spray. No cell reception at the campground but it kicks in if you drive about ten minutes down the 33 towards Ojai. Enjoy!
