This was my first camping experience with my boyfriend and I loved it! Very nice spot big and spacious, restrooms are near so that was a plus :) We went in the creek/river and it was so relaxing overall enjoyed our time! Side note we did not run into any poison oak that was my main concern based off other reviews!!!

Wheeler was a good time. There is a nice nature center right across the road with some really great taxidermy as well as other informational exhibits. Our campground was a little close to the road, and the adjoining sites were close enough that once might have to make friends to forgo constant accidental eye contact. Some other sites looked like they might have more privacy though. We will be back to try some of the other sites. It is worth noting that you are close enough to town to drive down for lunch and wine tasting. Perhaps 20 minutes one way. Big trees and a nice creek to explore as well.

Great spot by the river! Only pit toilets, but very clean. Enjoyed climbing on the rocks, checking out the visitor center, and being "off the grid" with no cell reception and lots of stars!
