Great campground! Stayed in summer and the bugs were INSANE. none bit us but they would just cling to us and our clothes. They were almost like gnats. The site itself was great and shady! A bit dusty. No bear containers and there were definitely two bear sightings at the campground that weekend. Unfortunately very domesticated and unafraid of humans. Ate a camper’s marshmallow…definitely not their first time digging through a site.

We had a lovely experience mid-August 2020 to view the Perseid meteor showers. The night sky was spectacular. We tent camped in a large site in loop 3. The loop is on a slope but it was possible to set up the tent on relatively level ground. The vault toilets are well maintained. This was mid-week so the campground was not full and it was peaceful. For bugs, there were only a few gnats in the afternoon. The main drawback is that there is no water so you have to bring it with you. You can resupply in town about 15 miles away. Temperatures were comfortable. We had a bit of rain one morning with a blazing sunrise and rainbow. Bonus!

This was a great campground! Was there for 4th of July weekend so it was very busy. We had spot 47 which had a ton of room. Lots of flat ground. Perfect trees for hanging a hammock. We had three tents and you could probably fit 4 maybe 5. The best spots were definitely 55, 66, 71. Anything in loop three was pretty good, but the spots that were on the side of the mountain were smaller (53, 54, 57, 58). Would avoid those if you have more than 1 tent. I would also avoid loop 1 if possible. They said water was available but everything was capped. The campsite also says to be bear aware, but there were no bear boxes.
