Bathrooms nice and clean, large pads, nice space between campsites. One trash can had a broken lid, should be fixed to make bear proof. I'd rate higher if there was water available.

The campsite itself is nice. Our family really enjoyed getting outdoors again. There is no water of any type so you have to plan accordingly. Bathrooms are good for the most part, some cleaner than others. Our big family reserved 3 camping sites next to each other. I will say one thing. The HOST is a REAL nuisance, at least the one that was there Labor Day weekend. He speaks to you in a threating way to not make ANY noise because he will call the sheriff and kick you out. I know some people want peace and quite in nature, but the way the HOST went about it was very rude. It conditioned our weekend and we couldn't enjoy it so much. We did our best to stay quiet after 9pm, but what blew our minds is that when our family where playing games together at 2:00 PM he came over to say we were too loud. He threatened to call the sheriff if he had to come back once more. We heard others being loud and having a good time, but it seems it was only us being harassed. Although he did say he would have another camper sent off if he couldn't have his dog stop barking. When he came at 2pm, we told him these facts about other being loud and he said the rules apply to everyone. Honestly I didn't believe that. Don't want to pull the racial card, but it felt a bit that way. If this is that type of campground where you're supposed to stay quiet at all times, it needs to be posted when you reserve it. We have stayed at many campgrounds throughout California. We know there is quiet time after a certain hour, but never before have we've felt harassed or conditioned based on the threats of the camp host, especially not in the middle of the day. Again, the location and nature part of was nice, but beware of the camp host that has an accent. The guy is not reasonable at all. I would definitely NOT return to this site just for that reason alone.

Been going to McGill Campground for 20 years. Always have had a great experience. Current park host is better than most. Will be back up there in a couple of weeks. First time I've seen a bear at McGill in years!
