this campground is very large but so beautiful. i booked site 55 which sat on the side of the mountain and had a gorgeous! the side of the campground i was on was very quiet and peaceful! the road that leads to the campground is also besides my chosen site so you can hear cars speeding by pretty often. despite that the campground is absolutely worth a visit.

Note: this review is about the same as my review for site 56. Feel the same way about it. Great site. Spacious with a good view of the mountains.-------I must say that this is a great place to camp. Its so beautiful. Please remember, there is no water here. So please bring your water. The restrooms were okay. A lot of flies coming out of the vaults. If you have a privacy tent with a bucket, bring it. Its better. I will most likely come back again. The weather was perfect; low 70s and at night low 50s. The view from our site was spectacular. Good view to experience the sun rise. During the nights, you felt you could touch the stars. Amazing place! As far as the actual site, it's very spacious. There's space for like 3 tents. Note, the area is not completely flat. See you soon McGill Campground.

Beautiful sight! Pretty big camp site with excellent cell service (T-Mobile). Great spot stargaze and catch the sunrise; the only downside was the bathrooms theyre pretty busy and you can smell them from the parking spot. Once you make your way down towards the campsite you cant smell them anymore.

The campground, toilet facilities, and trash collection area were clean. The campground hosts obviously care about keeping everything orderly. The campground was quiet in the evening, which I appreciated very much. My campsite (57) had a nice level area where I was able to put my tent. A note for a first time visitor - The different roads and where to turn to get to the campground entrance can be slightly confusing, but I still found it after a bit of backtracking.

Quiet campground, clean site and clean bathrooms. There is a relatively flat and level area for a two person tent in this space. Two 'must see' things in the area are the weekend evening stargazing at the Mt. Pinos Nordic Base parking lot (a couple of miles further up the the road), and eat at the Red Dot vegetarian restaurant in Frazier Park, (Delicious! The Beef-less Mongolian Stir Fry and Stuffed Portobello Mushroom dishes are excellent.)

The campground is a nice campground, with nice host. We were challenged with the wind this time, very heavy over two days of our three days, but that was not the Campgrounds fault, but mother nature. We loved our sites and the fellowship of tent campers in Loop 3.

Nice place, but you need to bring your own water. You also need to know that only one vehicle is included and they charge $10 per day for any additional cars even though your reservations includes two cars. Causes confusion & frustration - just know ahead of time about additional fees.

Beautiful view. Spacious lot. #55. I went during the week so it wasn't crowded. Bathrooms were close and stocked. Used McGill Trail to get to the Top of Mt. Pinos for a trail run. The trail needed some directional help in a couple areas but overall a moderate difficulty but scenic trail. Watch for pine tree pollen when the wind blows. Leaves a light green powder on things.
