camped here during 4th of july weekend with a family of 2 small children and 1 dog. good amenities: coin-op showers, flushing toiles, port-a-potties, sinks outside the bathroom with hot and cold water, potable water.within walking distance of arroyo seco river, which is a popular day-use area. it filled up first thing in the morning after opening on sunday though. when i was here, one of the two restroom buildings was out of service and was replaced with port-a-potties. we had to use the other restroom building behind the campground host, which meant only 2 showers were available to campers. showers accept 6 quarters (which is 5 minutes) to start and then 1 additional quarter (which is 1 minute per quarter) to continue.would have liked more privacy and campsites to be more spaced out or dispersed. campsites are so close together in that i can hear conversations from neighboring campers when in my tent. there was a campground host present to sell firewood, collect parking fees, exchange quarters for showers. they did not enforce the quiet hours.

We came back from hiking at Pinnacles National Park to find ourselves in a literal sea of young children. I counted 27 tents in two campsites, and there must have been 70 people occupying them. Right next to our trailer--not in one of their campsites--they had erected a slack line and gymnastics set up, and this is where they assembled prior to an evening walk. How was this allowed to happen? The regulations say no more than 8 people per campsite. There is a group campsite outside the regular campground that could have been used. Oh, and there was no water at the campground at all. We were self-contained in our travel trailer, but with that group, there must have been at least 125 people in a very small campground with maybe 8 porta potties. We left early the next morning.

Very quiet in the campground and on the trails. Road in was in great condition and the campground was well maintained.Bathrooms were closed and porta-potties were available instead. Camp hosts were very friendly.

Great park and beautiful trails to the gorge but the staff were extremely rude and nitpicking. We arrived at 1:30pm and drove into the campsite but they made us leave because check in was at 2pm and we couldn't use a propane stove without getting a permit, which I have never seen before. The campsites are also pretty close together so if you want privacy you won't get it here. The lakes were also dried out, which was a bummer. Just a heads up!

great campground. the river is so close by and kids love to play in it. please note that if you want to park your car not in the campground but in the day-use area, you need to get a pass for the day. It's $10 per day and usually solds out quickly over the weekends. Also, there is a beautiful hike in the gorge. But this is not suitable for small children as it's too long. Also can be very hot during summer days when it's sunny. So bring lots of water.

I am a swimmer so enjoyed the rock pool. Its a shame that littering is so bad. I hiked the gorgeous gorge and cooled off at the bottom. Clean restrooms, nice sites, what more is there.

Very beautiful place and nice campground. BUT--so many bugs! Yikes! Also, even though I had a paid campsite, I was given a parking ticket while visiting the creek. There's the other problem---the water bank was so over-populated it was almost impossible to find a spot to sit. I can only imagine how many "potty breaks" all those kids were taking in the creek. If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful day sitting on a riverbank, this is not the place. I will say that my 1st two days, Wednesday and Thursday, were much more enjoyable, before the weekenders showed up. Maybe we retirement-aged folk should look elsewhere. :))
