Merrill campground is very nice and well kept. The hosts are well organized and run a nice operation. They cant do anything about the natural issues here. Mosquitoes in July are vicious. The lake has no beach with the water ending in mud and weeds. If youre going for the lake youll be disappointed unless youre boating. The lake has a health hazard where youre not to allow dogs to swim, but its ok for you to swim? Earlier or later than July might be much better. Nice trails and forests, camping in the trees. Kids on bikes, good family place. Except for the bugs

Great campsite. Sites are not close together. Access to the lake shore can be difficult.

We enjoy the 4th of July holiday every year at Merrill - eight summers later and still going! Its a lovely campground, where hosts take great pride in its upkeep, and everyone is very friendly.

Dont come here for the lake. There is basically no beach and just a muggy muddy swamp going into the water. The campground was very clean and nice and the bathrooms were well kept.

Great stay at Merrill Campground. This is a large campground with about 1/2 the spaces having water and power and a large number of first come first serve spaces. Was able to get 4 spaces with hookups together for our family get together. The campground and restrooms were very clean. The camp hosts were first class, friendly, helpful and always available. The spaces were large enough even for our 32' 5th wheel w/3 slides, a tent and still room for the truck and a car. The lake is huge but mostly shallow. Fishing requires a boat to get to the deeper water. Swimming is a challenge as the shore is mostly muddy but I understand that there are better places to be found.

My husband and I spent four days relaxing at Merrill Campground on Eagle Lake in Northern California (17 miles from Susanville, CA). This was our first time here. The camp hosts are friendly, the campground and restrooms are kept clean. It was quiet and relaxing. Many sites offer full hookups and some of the lake front sites are first come first serve. It definitely is the place to go to beat the heat. Do bring repellent for the mosquitos. We will camp here again!

We arrived and while setting up our trailer caught fire so we had to leave. We tried to get some kind of refund and our request was denied due to it did not meet your requirements.

I go every year and it amazes me how clean the Merrill campground is. It would be nice to have destinations close to the lake. We always play bocce ball would be nice to have a bocce ball court built in.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
