One of the most beautiful campgrounds, thirty minutes from a large city! The lake is so stunning!!! The campsites are large and spacious! The eagles are a beautiful sight. The water is pretty, and fun to swim in. The only problem is how far it is! This so the closest campground to the lake, but you still have to drive over to the beach area and park where the osprey hike is. We had it to ourselves for the most part. It is a hill, so its hard to bring stuff up and down without a wagon of some sort. The last day was too windy and we could not swim or fish. We reserved the first time, and did FCFS the second camping trip. Worth the drive!
We enjoyed visiting Burney falls, it's an extra 1.5 hours, but completely worth the time. Most amazing falls!!
