Webb Mountain Lookout is a fun place to visit and spend the night. We lucked out with fabulous weather and gorgeous sunset and sunrise. It's very basic, kind of like camping. This lookout sits on a block foundation so there is only one flight of stairs to the deck. The vault toilet nearby is very clean and roomy. It has a beautiful view of Koocanusa Reservoir, the town of Eureka, and all the cool mountains in the region. In the distance you can see the peaks of Glacier Park, the Cabinet Mountain Wilderness area near Libby, and Mount Henry in Yaak. The access road is rough near the lookout so a vehicle with good clearence is a must.

Great view, comfortable mattress, cooking utensils provided. Lovely hiking area. Suggestion: hike the last 100 yards. Road gets rough at the very end.

What a gem, such a beautiful spot. 360-degree views of the beautiful Kootenai National Forest! We had a wonderful stay at this amazing old fire lookout. We even had a few "hike in" visitors and welcomed them in to take a look around. The lookout was well maintained and clean, thanks to all the other folks who have stayed here in the past.

Have not been to Webb Mountain lookout for over 10 years. I liked the improvements they made such as the vault toilet and handrailing for the stairs. Firewood was nicely stocked. Facility was clean and had good equipment. Tile around stove needs repair but not an issue for using it. We rented it for 6/25. Almost the longest day. Which was good for hiking but bad for star gazing. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises as would be expected from the location. Be aware that the area is ALL loose rocks which can be treacherous footing. Be sure to pack in water. Also, the road to the lookout is very rocky just before you arrive, so a high clearance vehicle is best. Also, people are likely to visit the lookout at any time. So do not expect privacy. We also brought our own lock for when we left the lookout for hikes. The combo on the door is common knowledge on the internet.

Very clean, sleeping pads were comfortable and overall very well taken care of!

Clean lookout tower with some mice. The road is getting pretty brushy before the gate and scratched up one of our trucks.

Caught the Northern Lights from Webb Mtn Lookout in the early AM hours of 8/8. They were the brightest and best I’ve ever seen them. Webb always treats me good.

I can’t rate Webb. We were so happy to get a reservation. Unfortunately the day before we were to go my husband was diagnosed with covid. We tried to gift it to a friend but it was too late for anybody to make plans. Too late for cancellation, too late for a refund.

Beautiful location and well-maintained. However, PNT thru hikers have compromised the lookout. Code has been shared online. Hikers will let themselves in, even if they know it is occupied. Do not leave any belongings in the lookout when you leave. This is the second time we have had an issue with PNT hikers letting themselves in…even when the faculty is locked.

Still one of my favorite lookout towers. Easy drive up with only a bit of rough road at the last 100 yards. Great idea is wipe down your mattresses and give them 30 min in the sun and wind to help ensure they are all clean. This lookout shows a lot of love by those who frequent it, let's keep it looking good. Great spot to get time lapse video of the sun setting over the Tobacco Valley. Note, there is no cookstove at this tower so bring your own! (atleast as of July 2020) Axe, hatchet, lots of items up there to use by guests. Expect wind outside, when the sun comes up it warms up quick inside even during the morning. Guests can adjust the airflow easily with the windows.
