Small campground, not noisy, beautifully kept, and very close to dam for fishing and swimming.

My family and I have been visiting this park for 30+ years for the 4th of July. We have lost a few but we have also gained a bunch. We LOVE camping here. It is family oriented and very friendly.

When I arrived, the groundskeepers were busy mowing the grass and weeds which werent really necessary but with the holiday weekend coming up it was an extra touch. Had no problem with the check in as I just set up my camp and left. When I returned, the campground host had already done my check in and had my passes at my campsite. I stayed for almost two weeks with no issues except for the restroom and bathhouse lights were off at night instead of the day. The issue was resolved before my stay was over though. Been going here for over thirty years and hope to keep it up for several years to come.

Love this campground! The attendants are very nice and helpful. I appreciate how hard they work to keep the facilities clean for guests to enjoy their time at the campground.

Everything was great. The bugs were just really bad and we weren't prepared so we left a little early. Go prepared in the summer for bugs.

This is a nice little campground. Our site was level, only issue were the bees. The bathroom and showers were clean. As for laundry, there are 3 washers and dryers in a little building with AC. (bring your quarters) We have Verizon cell service and were able to stream videos. No antenna TV signal. When picking your site notice that some of the sites have concrete patio while others are fine gravel.

We had a very good time at Buckhorn campground. Dont know her name, but the camp host there was very friendly & informative. The campgrounds were well taken care of and other camp/COE employees or volunteers were around most every day working on something or cleaning the restrooms & showers. We used the laundry facilities one day and washers/dryers were clean and worked well. Only downside was the fish werent biting. Very quiet at this campground.

One of the best campgrounds we have ever had the pleasure of staying at. We have visited twice and both times we have been be pleased with the campground. The park attendants are super nice. Park is clean, well maintained and kid friendly. Bath houses were clean. This is a hidden gem. There is not a lot of stores, gas stations, etc.. close, so pack what you need. But the campground is peaceful and quiet. Perfection. We drive 2.5 hours to camp at this location, well worth the drive.

Had a great few days' getaway with family. My son loves to fish at Buckhorn Lake. Host at the campground is so nice and very helpful. Very quiet and peaceful place to enjoy some down time from work. Everything is clean and well taken care of. If you love being on the Lake and fishing, this is the place to be.

Unfortunately not the campground for us. Sites were more set up for RV camping not for tent camping as there was no privacy and sites were close together. Site fire pit and grill were not cleaned out. The bathroom/shower house not clean either. The trail that they did have was completely unmaintained and washed out with a severe grade to access trail. Access to the river was good with a few benches and pavilion down by the dam. If we we in a rv and the area was cleaner would have been 4 star review.

Stayed at our first COE, Buckhorn Dam Campground in Kentucky. Beautiful campground at the base of the dam. Mostly well kept and clean but our site was not. Cigarette butts, fishing lures (and assuming hooks?) , and trash all over the site. We found a plastic bottle, lures, and a knot of fishing wire in the fire pit. LOVE the cost and beauty of most of the campground but we are a little disappointed by our experience.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
