I say with sadness that after visiting Hurricane Creek Campground for 40 years., and having our yearly family reunion there, it’s a probability that we won’t be back unless there are improvements. It used to be a nice well-kept campground, but has declined over many years. Just to name off some of the top issues we had.; the men’s bathroom was very nasty. Only one of two toilets were usable for three days. They were closed one day for sure, and it may have been two, because we seen no one around. Tiles in men’s shower are broken up to where you see dirt and grass growing in corner. Sink was stopped up with whiskers floating around for three days. There’s never any soap. I took one warm shower out of six days of stay in the women’s. Water was most always cold, which was everyone’s complaint. Beach area has been taken over by grass through years and has made it so small with little sand. The swimming area is rock bottom, not sand. Young Grandniece sliced her foot while swimming on rocks. GrandSon came out with a leech stuck to him. Snakes were swimming everywhere in water. Two larger snakes were killed in the Camp area during our stay, brother-in-law busted his tire on a cut off fence post stob in his camp site. Several areas needed bush hogging. Years of the fallen leaves from surrounding trees are everywhere; in your campsite and ditches.(needs to be burned off.) several kids had bike wrecks from the rough payment throughout the campground. It was just too much this past time to make you want to come back. It’s really sad when you know what it used to be. I do hope that this review gets to someone who cares and can make a change. Camping is a past time favorite for families, and the good simple things in life are getting fewer and less attention.

Beautiful setting. Stayed on sites #27 and #23. Both were excellent waterfront lots. Investment needs to be made to repair/repave the roadway which had significant erosion damage causing crumbling shoulders with drop-off. Also the only bathhouse in the campground needs either enormous renovation or complete replacement.

We always enjoy our stays at Hurricane Creek. Water views are nice and you get a relaxing non commercial vibe, very laid back.
