The road getting to the campground was paved, and in good condition. This time I brought my new renegade Vienna, which has lithium and solar, so I didn’t mind that this site did not have electrical hook ups. There was plenty of sun and the view to the north was completely open for my Starlink dish.

During the off-season every site at this campground is completely free. Everything is turned off during the off-season, electrical, water, restrooms, etc. But it’s the perfect place to boom dock just 20 minutes from the freeway you can’t get any better than this.

I was the only camper here and the weather was in the 70s and the lows did not hit freezing so I couldn’t ask for a better place to stay for two weeks.

This is the entrance to the campground. There is a map and the ranger station that you must pass through.

Site D28 is right on the lake. These non-electric sites are completely free Monday through Thursday nights in the off peak season. Absolutely beautiful and no one’s around. If you like Boondocking, and great weather, you got to check out this campground.

There is potable water and tank dump flush. During the off-season, the dump is open, however, all of the utilities, including water are shut off.

These sites right on the lake have amazing views, however, they do not have any electrical hook ups.

There were several fisherman every day at this spot near the campground.

Venango Campground Loop D. There are a mix of campsites with electrical hook ups, and some with none which are right on the lake.

The bathrooms look very nice, including a drinking fountain in front. Unfortunately, they were all locked because it was out of season.

These sites without electricity are absolutely free Monday through Thursdays in the off season. I love this site because it was fairly level and has great views to the north sky for my Starlink.

The park was clean. Park staff was polite and friendly. Fellow campers were very friendly as well. The fishing was pretty good.

Random people along with camp personal took it upon themselves to park in my camp site. While neighbors informed them even tho my tent and goods were in the spot. They didn’t leave for an hr. It was so unprofessional. There are several points in the camp specifically for day use which are not reserved campsites.
