Nicely restored cabin in a wonderful forest setting. We were there during the elk mating season and heard much bulgeling!

Great secluded location with lots of wildlife. Had a minor issue with the stove (my daughter says it was the cabin ghosts fault). The Kaibab National Forest people were very quick to respond - especially Dawn in the Williams office and Zach in the field. The issue was resolved within an hour. Well be back!

Great historical cabin in an absolutely beautiful, secluded area. We could have been the only people left on earth as far as privacy. Also provided a quick, easy access to visit the less populated vistas of the (east) South Rim. I've lived in AZ for 45 years and first time to this part of the South Rim and the exquisite Desert View Watchtower.

Fabulous cabin! The road was pitted, but accessible (with some scrapes) to our Prius and the cabin was clean and had tons of nice amenities!

Our early June visit was delightful. Some favorite memories: Broad-tailed hummingbirds buzzing upwards into the sky and checking out my pink t-shirt; very dark night sky enabling us to see layers of stars and the Milky Way; the privacy of the area; huge, forked Ponderosa pines towering nearby; historic cabin; solar lights; well-stocked kitchen with pots, pans. We brought a tiny plug-in coffee maker but did not risk plugging it into the only socket we could find which was behind the refrigerator. We used the old-fashioned percolator on the propane stove which worked fine. Took one hike to Grandview Lookout Tower, uphill most of the way there, distant views of the Grand Canyon from the top of the tower. Well worth the effort although I think next time we would drive to the tower. Hope to come back to Hull Cabin.

Wonderful location--remote and quiet but yet easy drive to rim road. We have been to the South Rim many times but this was the first time to explore the East end. The Grandview vista and Watchtower with many pullover views in between were amazing with the Colorado River exposed. We loved going back to the Hull Cabin porch to relax for happy hour!! Stars were amazing at night! Take solar bag for warm water for showers, the bath house is nice but we took a small portable potty so I didn't have to go outside during the night to toilet at bathhouse. We hiked the AZ trail which is nearby, lots of history in this cabin, really nice the Forest Service rents it out!

We were pleasantly surprised as we did not do our due diligence and call the ranger prior to that Memorial weekend stay (after Covid Times). The cabin (once we finally got to it via route 64 East’s Grandview Pass Overlook) was clean comfortable, cozy and most importantly rustic! We left it the way we arrived / received it after our 2-day stay. We were glad we bought our pillows as there were non at the cabin (our fault).
The electricity was a welcome happenstance. We had a clean fridge and well stocked ?? logs in the back for the evening. We had read about the accommodations prior to our arrival but were not sure what to expect. We bought matches and extra logs and learned from Tusayan folks how best to approach the cabin via our rental convertible coupe without risking sleeping in the car! It would have been nice to have brought our own bedsheets as we arrived after nightfall, and made it all the way past the 1.5 mile gravel road (after opening the Hull Cabin secluded gates meant to keep the cows away).
We enjoyed the comfy fleece blanket we bought the following day from downtown Tusayan as it came handy. My girlfriend took charge of the logs and keeping the fire simmering in the rustic stove as it was just the two of us.
The following day, it was time for the Ice frigere bucket challenge in the WC quarters next door after the Bright Angel Trail was over and done with. That was a highlight. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The water tanks (ponds) were dry in mid-May, so we didn't see as much wildlife as we hoped, but there was a lot of wildlife sign around. Cattle on the National Forest roads were a constant source of entertainment and caused a few driving delays.

Quiet break from the crowds on the South Rim. Well stocked compared to many rustic Forest Service cabins. Bathhouse with places to hang solar showers were a nice touch. Very comfortable. We were proud to show our Australian companions a gem of a property owned by our National Forest Service. They were impressed by the preservation effort. Keep it up!

We love Hull Cabin! Sit back, hang out on the front porch, grill your steaks on an open fire, and put your feet up. Hull Cabin is the place to reset your compass!
