The site was pretty clean, not really any obvious pieces of trash or debris. My only issues would be those that aren't really possible for the park employees to deal with.I was totally blindsided by the putrid smell of the trucks emptying the restrooms (what I believe to be the case.) I wish there was some notice anywhere about what times to expect those at. The smell dissipated after about 15 minutes but WOW haha it was intense. We had a park employee come by and check on things and let us know about the dog leash rules, they were incredibly kind about the situation and helped us understand why the rules are in place. Good job to them. We did have noisey and inconsiderate campers tenting about 30ft away from our tents. They were talking so loud their voices echoed off the nearby rocks and into the open desert. Either way, I told them to please be quiet and they complied around 2am. They seemed to have a good time so I can't blame them too much, just seemed like they haven't been camping much or the alcohol got to them. I love the park so much and pick up trash when I see it. The place means a lot to me and will always hold a place in my heart. I appreciate all the hard work that goes into keeping the place in a good condition. Thank you to the people keeping the park and environment in a place fit to visit.

Camp ground was well kept, but the camp ground markers on 19A can use some improvements; The marker was covered by a bush. Overall it was a pleasant stay. Keep it up!

Great campground. Awesome nature. Good basic infrastructure.Downside during our stay for one night was just that people didn't respect a rest period at night. At least the group of more than 10 people that had rented a nearby campground left before 10pm.

If you are concerned about wind, pick a spot in the inner part of the loop on the north or east sides for protection provided from the rocks.

Great site, the campground host was friendly and helpful. We worried about the rock climbers going up at night, but they seemed to know what they were doing. Beautiful location.

This campsite is fine but the way the spot is managed makes no sense and is actually worse than a walk up system (how it used to be). People show up regularly past the time when rangers are in the park; these folks camp and clean up (sometimes) before the rangers come in mid morning todo what? Look at the cars that are parked? No enforcement of quiet hours, No enforcement of drone no fly zones, surprise neighbors late at night, Reserved tags hang permanently on everything. Kinda wondering why Id pay $20 for this spot when BLM is free and quiet.

This camp site is awesome. There's only 30 or so spots, so it's smaller, which we really enjoyed. It's a loop, and. the ones on the outside have an excellent view out into the park, and the ones on the inside have the amazing benefit of the rocks right behind them! It's a win-win. I'd absolutely stay here again!

We didnt do much there except a little car camping at night. The campsite was quiet and it was close to the city 29 Palms (less than a 20min drive?). Star views were great, and it was a little chilly.

I reserved Site 19 which should NOT be a shared site at all! It was so close to Site 20 that we could have rubbed elbows. Of course I was a single older woman who values my privacy and Site 20 was inhabited by a family with a large RV, 3 little kids and a barking dog and they ran their generator. There was also no place for me to park my small trailer and car although it SAID on the reservation that there would be room to park them there.I also hated that you had to park your trailer near the road instead of in your site. Very inconvenient and took away from the camping experience. There was NO WAY I could have stayed there in Site 19 with the occupants of Site 20 within spitting distance! I was fortunate that someone else vacated their site and the host graciously allowed to swap sites. The tables and fire pit for Site 19 need to be moved further away from Site 20 or make it just one big site. Otherwise the campground was great with beautiful views and clean facilities. The speed limit does need to be lowered as people were speeding through the campground blowing dust on everything. Some speed bumps would help with this. It's also dangerous because people let their kids play in the road.

Really nice campsite. Flat spots for tents, picnic tables, clean restrooms, beautiful view of the stars, easily accessible to the rest of the park. Ryan Campground is also right by the Ryan Mountain hike, which I really enjoyed. But here and a couple other campsites in the park (I stayed here and at White Tank) people do leave trash behind, prime example: PLEASE don't leave your used toilet paper on the ground. We should all use the provided restrooms there to keep the campsite nice, but if you can't do that for whatever reason, don't leave your TP on the ground. There are multiple trash cans around the campground. We have a great opportunity here to minimize our impact on the local ecosystem and keep these campsites beautiful for future visitors to the park. Look up Leave No Trace if you haven't heard of it!Rant aside, the campsites and the park are BEAUTIFUL. And VERY cold at night. First night I woke up to my gallon of water almost completely frozen (early December). Be prepared!

Convenient trash and recycle bins all throughout the campground. Bathrooms were plenty as well. The Ryan Mountain Trail and Barker Dam Trail are must-does. They show you the many different scenes of Joshua Tree.

Great location within the park. Easy access to park must sees. Nice size sites for 6 people. Do pay attention to number of cars allowed at the site. Only down side, zero enforcement of 10pm quiet time. Be prepared for sleepless nights from large groups of 20 somethings that arrive late, party and depart early
