While almost every one of the sites is nice, we had the unfortunately chose spot #7, where our next door neighbors were literally 15 feet away. We had zero privacy, and felt awkward even trying to sit at our picnic table when their music and conversation (both modest volume) had already taken over our space. It was really awful. We could hear them in their tent during the evening, quite clearly. It was a terrible camping experience.

Really cool campground, very well kept, clean outhouse and spacious camping spots, close to keys view, before main attractions like oysters bar, hall of horrors, Ryan mt and skull rock (theres more to see but these are close by). Nights here are very pretty, during full moon the moonlight showers everything with a blueish tint, perfect for nocturnal pictures, stars look incredible. High coyote activity so keep your eyes open.No water available through the park so be prepared since its the desert. Happy camping

Beautiful campground with boulder formations. Sunrises and sunsets were amazing and there was great stargazing, too. I liked that it's a smaller campground without too many people or amenities but still offered picnic tables and fire pits. A few of the sites are pretty close together but you there are some that are off on their own if you reserve them well in advance.

I frequently stay in NPS campgrounds and I am always impressed with their level of care, but that was not my experience camping at Joshua Tree. I was surprised by the poor restroom facilities and the amount of trash in the campground ground. One campsite even had a torn trash bag that was sending trash everywhere. The campsites were so close that there was no sense of any privacy. I eventually left early because of the amount of dust that was caused by non camping vehicles just driving through. Such an interesting park. Hopefully the campgrounds will get some care in the future.

We enjoyed this campground; quiet and peaceful with close access to many trails and sights to explore! Clean bathrooms that are easy to find, and great information on the visitor board on your way in. All in all, perfect views and a great location make this campsite worth returning to.

No shade, campsites were very close to each other

Each campsite is relatively close to one another. But, the campgrounds overall were very clean, as they should be! Nice scenery and depending on the camp site you get, there is a nice set of boulders for great pictures at the campground. Overall, would come back!

Scenic views. Fun pile of boulders to scramble on in center of campground. Near the Ryan Mountain hike and Hall of Horrors. Pit toilets were pretty clean.

Both the Keys Ranch and Cap Rocks ranger guided tours were very worthwhile.

We had a nice 1 night stay at Ryan campground. It's a beautiful location near Mount Ryan which you can climb best early in the morning during sunrise. We learned this by visiting the visitorscentre just before entering the NP. They had great tips!We could see the night sky very clear in the dark night, it was beautiful. Sadly some other tourists needed to be told to switch off the very bright flashlights. We discovered that they weren't even staying at the campground but left again at midnight.

Ryan campground was great! The new camp host was also wonderful. Looking forward to camping again in Joshua Tree.
