Nice campground but the second time we visited right at 10pm people were blasting music for hours making it impossible to sleep. The bass was so loud I could hear it through headphones. Several hikers also parked in other campsites parking spots for long periods of time. There was no reception to ask for help from park rangers. It was bad enough to make us not want to camp ever again.

Always a magical experience visiting Joshua Tree NP. First time (car) camping in the park, and absolutely loved it! Watching the firelight dance along the rocks is a beautiful sight. I was solo car camping in February and the weather wasn't bad either, just needed to bring extra layers and blankets for the cold and kept an eye on the weather. Also felt super safe throughout my solo trip.Jumbo Rocks is in such a great, central location with a couple of beginner-friendly trails and rock climbing right next to the campsite, as well as a great spot for stargazing and watching the sun rise/set. I saw quite a few families with young kids enjoying them. I've seen others say it, but I don't think there's a bad site in the campground. Tips: Bring LOTS of water, prepare (mentally) for pit toilets if you're not used to them, keeping a flora and fauna guide handy can be fun, download the NPS Joshua Tree NP offline guide, wearing shoes with good traction makes rock climbing safer and more fun!

Beautiful, quiet, clean. Be aware that sites vary hugely....some are private while others are very close to your neighbors. Would still return no matter what site I got though.
Such an amazing camping experience, we didn't want to leave! We accidentally setup camp at the wrong numbered spot and the park rangers were friendly and helpful getting us to the right place. The nights were starry, peaceful and beautiful. I hope to come back some day.
Strong wind, You should have have a strong tent for camping
