Very special place to stay. The rocks are so jumbo that we can do hike on them and have nice view. We adore our staying.

Invaded by bees and had to leave early - I took some pics and video if you want to see

The sites were small but doable. It's a beautiful location for a short stay since there's no water and pit toilets only.

Great Campground. Heat was extreme unfortunately, so we only stayed the night, arrived late and left before 9 am.

The campground itself was very cool. Loved the rock formations. We had made an online reservation with recreation.gov. When we arrived at the site after dark someone else had take our site. It was very confusing because we could not find a host to help us with the situation. Ultimately we found a list at the message board at the entrance to the site. We could see our reservation listed. We could also see that there was one other site that was available. We told the people that were in our site that they could stay there and we would take the other site. Hopefully they really did pay for the site that we had originally reserved. This same thing happened to us at another campground is Joshua Tree. It all worked out for us in the end but there are people who are not following the rules.

Stayed in space #122 with 2 boys ages 5 & 7. It was amazing. The boys woke up every morning and began climbing less the 10 feet from our tent. The nights felt like we were out by ourselves and adventure was around every boulder. We can’t wait to come back.

This is a lovely campground and it is great to be among the rocks. They provide a measure of privacy and a nice way to get up over the campground to see the sunrise or sunset. The facilities were well maintained and the spots we had were both very nice. My minimal complaint is that there were people with generators that ran them in the evening. That was annoying but they did stop using them at a reasonable hour. The campground is conveniently located and well maintained. I wish there were RV dump facilities and fresh water near this end of the park.

This is the best campsite in the park. Our kids spent a whole day climbing and exploring just the campground, not to mention the proximity to Skull Rock trail.

I have always loved Joshua Tree. I have been camping and rock climbing at Joshua Tree for about 50 years. With the limited number of camp sites in conjunction with the increased popularity, I find it extremely difficult and frustrating to obtain a camp site. I would not damage or risk the environment if more camp sites are add!
Please consider increasing the number of camp sites.

Well maintained campsites and restrooms. Proximity to rock formations was pleasant. Campground hosts were very friendly and helpful. Sky at night was crystal clear. I could see the Milky Way.

We camped here for two nights in March with our 6 year old and 2 year old and had a great time. The kids loved climbing on the rocks and we did a few easy hikes. There is a trail right from the campground to Skull Rock which was easy enough for our little ones.

Great location to all areas of the park, mostly quiet and some really nice sites between boulders.
