Site 119 is nestled between rocks and helped protect us against wind gusts. It also offered us a little bit of privacy. Space was enough for 3 large tents but has a slight grade. Downside is theres only room for 1 vehicle. Pit toilets only. No water or showers. We brought our own. Bring lots if you can!The loop 119 is in is very quiet. Other campers were very considerate of quiet time. Its also very close to the pit toilet. We were there for the total lunar eclipse producing a red hue on the moon. It was nicknamed The Worm blood moon. March 3, between 3am to 5am. We really enjoyed this campground and plan to come back at some point!

Jumbo Rocks is a great place to camp during the winter. The cool weather and clear skies are delightful. As the sun sets, you can enjoy grilling steaks and sipping wine while gazing at the stars in the night sky it's a truly special place. Site #119, in particular, is set apart from the other campsites, allowing for a more private and relaxing camping experience.

Great campground, although some sites are small or close to the road. Site 119 was nicely nestled between the rocks. Just remember to bring along enough water.

Amazing landscape, wonderful spot for tenting - starry night, high moon and coyote howling. It was a real adventure. Kids loved it.

Beautiful campground. It was wonderful to use it as a base camp to hike to Skull and Split rocks

This campground was super beautiful! We loved our site 119. The large boulders gave us a sense of privacy and it was pretty spacious. Some of the sites seemed like they were really small and kind of squished on to the access road, but all should have space to pull up. It's close to popular hikes in the area like Skull rock. Beware it gets hot quick in the morning, especially if you're positioned in the sun, so if you're in a tent think about positioning yourself in the shade when morning comes. We got our firewood before entering the national park. Using Tmoblie theres no service once you near the park. There's no running water or flush toilets so come prepared! Also just a heads up the ground was pretty hard and rocky so we couldn't get the stakes all the way in.

Jumbo Rocks is a magical place to watch the sunrise and sunset. Camping facilities were basic as stated in park information. Picnic table and fire ring at each site and very clean pit toilets. Good positioning of garbage receptacles throughout campground. Great hiking from campground to Skull Rock and Discovery trail. A few minutes to drive to other hikes. Would recommend definitely for 2 night stay minimum if you can. Remember you need to be self sufficient including water!

Remember to bring a seperate trashbag for each day of stay so you can throw one bag away at the end of the day and dont need to worry about trash smell in your car. the back of the campsite can be windy so be sure to have enough tie downs to keep your tent tight.

Great site, only issue was all campground bathrooms had bees roaming around. Some bathrooms were worse than others.

Beautiful location to stargaze and enjoy the scenery. The area wasnt very crowded and the campsites are far enough apart to be semi-private. I would definitely look at the campsite map before booking to make sure you wont be on the road if youre camping with little ones. Ill absolutely be back in the future!!

Great Campground! Love scrambling on all the rocks!! Especially to catch the sunsets! Centrally located, trails from the campground and a short drive to others. Camp Host’s were super friendly and available if needed. Bathrooms are pit toilets but not bad & were kept clean & stocked with t.p.

This campground was incredible! We loved how secluded we felt thanks to the huge boulders separating many of the campsites. We were lucky to get a fairly large site, but many of them barely had room for a tent, so look carefully at the pictures before you book. Our kids had a blast climbing and exploring right from the campsite and it was also close to many of the main attractions in the park.

Great campsite and a wonderful one-night camping experience for me and my mom. We stayed at #119, and I can highly recommend the location as it's situated adjacent to these large vertical boulders that provide excellent privacy and gorgeous views. I was initially worried its location near the road would be an issue, but no one is driving through JTree in the middle of the night to make being near the main road a problem. In fact, the close proximity to the Skull Rock & Discovery trails made for a wonderful morning hike the next day. However, have to give the site 4 stars because there is no water and it's all pit toilets. However, for two people with a car tent camping, as long as you bring a couple of gallons of water and strategically use a good restroom before entering the campsite for the night, it can be managed.Ultimately, book Jumbo Rocks #119, and you won't be disappointed.

Excellent campground! Beautiful location surrounded by the large rock formations, centrally located for exploring sites in the area, and quick trip back to Twentynine Palms town, if any emergency items are needed. I stayed in spot #119 which was great because it's situated between two large rock formations so somewhat private, just slightly off the main road with bathroom very close by - this is a smaller spot, probably 2-4 people max and parking for only one vehicle.
