Great site for rock climbing, for everyone. Love this park but not all the people walking through my campsite. This was not the campgrounds issue.

Great location. Bring water, shade, ample tent stakes if the forecast calls for any wind whatsoever, and you'll be set for a great time. Use caution when driving in/out of the campground entrance-- skull rock is right by the side of the road, and there is a 90% chance you will encounter distracted tourists meandering across the street at random points. Perhaps the intrigue of a skull shaped rock distracts them from thoughts of their own mortality and/or the concept of a crosswalk. Be safe!

We absolutely loved our time at Jumbo Rocks. Scored a great campsite with amazing views. Everything was clean. Bathrooms and trash bins were close by. Couldnt recommend more. Hoping to return back soon!

Site 113 is phenomenal. You do have to walk a bit to get to the campsite, but it wasn't too bad. With just me, it took about 4 trips back and forth to the car to set up camp. I will say to bring earplugs to sleep if the noise bothers you. The sites are pretty close together, but 113 has the most privacy out of them all. For me, it was perfect as a solo traveler. I met my neighbors and spend the whole night talking to them. I feel that these sites are pretty social and friendly, which worked out better than I could have ever expected. The rocks are beautiful, the sky was beautiful, and the view that 113 gets specifically was spectacular. I would definitely camp here again.

Loved campsite 113 - it is set back a bit off the road, and felt like I had some of my own space to spread out. Lots of great rock formations encompassing the site, and apparently all of the kids in the entire campground really like my site too. So rather than having a bit of peace and solitude I had kids running through my site with electronic blaster guns, so much so that one kid tripped on my tent stake...so that was a bit disappointing.

EXCELLENT. Absolutely a personal favorite, it would take me weeks to fully explore it and I never even made it to any actual trails. A little slice of paradise for enthusiasts of... Extremely Large (and moderately traversable) Rocks, with an amazing breeze that makes long exposures much more difficult but blunts the impact of the late spring heat enough to remain comfortable into the late morning.

We love Jumbo Rocks! Always a special time. So many stars Desert Queen Mine trail was easy and interesting this time around for a short hike off some back roads. Thank you NP service!

Wonderful experience at Jumbo Rocks! One major factor though were the constant winds (not sure if that is seasonal) and maybe other sites at JR are better shielded.

Jumbo Rocks Campsites are very close together. You can practically see everyone at campsites. Though it may just be because its very popular. I was in site 113, and 113-115 are all really close together. It was nice to be able to boulder around some rocks to watch the sunrise right next to my campsite though. Facilities were clean. Campsite had a lot of microtrash that I picked up.

Jumbo Rocks is a truly unique camping experience. I've been visiting the park and this campground for about 13 years, and it never ceases to amaze. This last visit, we brought our homeschooling children and they met up and explored with other kiddos - they really had a blast hiking and climbing together.

The park's visitor's center was a wonderful resource for us a worldschooling parents. The ranger gave the kids a Junior Ranger book that invited them to do a scavenger hunt of sorts, checking off all the flora, fauna and animals they could find in the park.

As long as I've been coming, there is always something left to explore. Already looking forward to our return in the Spring.

We had a very nice spot kind of tucked away. All the spaces seem to have a lot of room. I think the campground has a bit of a reputation for being a bit loud, and some of our neighbors did stay up drinking rather late. Not the end of the world, but, if you are looking for a quiet time this might not be the best spot. Otherwise the scenery is amazing lots of fun!

My favorite campground EVER! Brilliantly designed so that you feel fairly private in many of the spots, even though other campers are within 15 yards. But when you reserve a spot, make sure you're not too close to one of the spots that allows giant RV's, because they can sometimes be potentially obnoxious, playing large tv's inside their grotesque rolling living rooms. Also, make sure you get a late-night emergency number to call, because there's no ranger on permanent duty at Jumbo Rocks. One time, a nearby campsite played and sang loud obscene (probably drug-fueled) songs around their campfire till 4:00 AM. I could barely sleep, and I did not feel safe walking over to them and asking them to be quiet. Next time I camped there, I made sure I had an emergency ranger number handy in case it happened again. It didn't. My favorite hikes are Willow's Hole and Pine City. HEAVEN!!! And Barker Dam is a great shorter easier loop (saw a herd of bighorn sheep there one year!)
