Clean bathrooms with plenty of toilet paper. Clean campsite. Fire ring was cleaned out and ready. Very dark skies, jillions of stars. Other campers were polite and kind.

Made reservations online for mid March, middle of week. Not very busy in park. There was not someone stationing the entrance to campground, but eventually we found a ranger to get checked in. Everything was very clean, accessible and beautiful. Wonderful time.

Joshua Tree National Park is a magical place with so many micro-climates to witness and enjoy and the Jumbo Rocks Campground is right in the heart of it, making all the great sites readily accessible. Jumbo Rocks has many great hikes and sites on its own that one could spend all of their time exploring there. Plus, its less than a half-hour from town if you need anything (Starbucks, water and wood). Also, the campsites at Jumbo Rocks are mostly secluded, or at least separated by the great rocks, that there is a lot of privacy in your own space. We were there for two nights and enjoyed sun, wind, rain, and hail all making for an exciting experience. Note: be sure to bring your own water as there is none available in the park.

This was our least favorite of the 3 campgrounds we've stayed in at Joshua Tree. It's beautiful just like the rest of this amazing Park and if it's the only spot open, book it for sure. However, our site had no table for us to eat at and was too close to the other campsite that did have a table and a screaming child. The crappy kid wasn't the park's fault but the proximity of our spot to a kid who started whining at about 5pm and screeched well past midnight was a bummer, though I'd guess the entire park heard him too. Mostly, I just wish we'd had a table and some space other than a parking spot to sit in. If you're reading this review, please understand that people wait years to get a campsite in Joshua Tree and letting your bratty kid shriek for hours on end IS NOT COOL AT ALL!

The stars were breathtaking,
our campfire kept us warm throughout the night, and the morning’s hike was a memorable one. Thank you for a clean campground and a well preserved gem.

Jumbo Rocks is one of my favorite of the campsites in Joshua Tree. It’s further out from some of the more centrally located campsites, but that is it’s appeal. The star gazing is the best, the site is less trafficked meaning quieter camping, and the campsite are well layed out to provide private spaces. My favorite three things to do in Joshua Tree: The Lost Horse Loop hike, Mt Ryan hike at sunset/sunrise, and of course the rock climbing. My biggest ask of other visitors to Joshua Tree: Follow the rules - mainly don’t park where you’re not supposed to, don’t camp where your not supposed to, keep dogs off trails for there safety, and clean up your garbage or even others when you leave. Enjoy and keep it pristine for future generations.

Great place to explore and climb around on the rock's! A bit too populated for me and hard to sleep at night due to sites being 20 feet apart.

Site 104 is a bit of distance from the parking, but it is nicely tucked away from the other sites and is backed by sloping rocks. Nice quiet little pad, however, not a ton of space for larger tents, glad I was there in a 2-person tent.

The best campground if you have kids as a fabulous spot to let them roam over the rocks. Nice hike to Skull Rock leaves from campsite. Lots of campsites but still has a private feel. Toilets in good condition. If you run out of water there's a spigot in the parking lot at the Joshua Tree NP Visitor Center in 29 Palms :)

Joshua Tree is such a unique whimsical and natural place! Every campsite is just fantastic with countless nearby places to explore. Young kids love it but keep close - plenty of high places to fall from when scrambling on rocks.
